Meh

"little Greta"? She is a teenager not a toddler. And why is she shown flying through the air like a superhero without a cape? Returned this one. Probably won't purchase this series again.

Kids can change the world

Greta Thunberg, born in Sweden, learned at a young age that it is important to protect the environment. She was diagnosed with selective mutism and Aspergers Syndrome. She only spoke about things that were very important to her. The environment fit that description. This gave her the platform to speak out against global warming. She peacefully protested outside the Swedish Parliament and inspired other children to form peaceful protests for the environment.

This book describes Greta Thunberg’s life in detail, but in easily understood language for children. The illustrations are well done.

As an educator, I would recommend this book to children to see that they can do big things. Everyone can make a difference.

Thank you to the Quarto Group and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Charming illustrations, empowering words

The illustrations in this book are charming. They have a little bit of an old-timey feel that pulls you in and makes you feel at home with Greta and her family. The book is full of interesting facts about Greta's life, many of which were new to me. It helps the reader really understand how Greta came to be an activist. It is also empowering to kids with selective mutism, autism spectrum disorder, and other ways of thinking and doing which are not always considered the norm.

Amazing series of books

We love the whole series of these books and have even gotten some in the original Spanish. This book is great, and if you're a Greta fan check out Greta and the Giants, very fun for kids.

I am such a sap for this

My son is learning the lessons of The Lorax, and when it is or is not appropriate to squash a bug or do other things with nature. This Greta book does not play around with this subject matter. It is giving my son the rough idea of a truth that is harsh, no matter how you present it. This book presents these topics with hope, from the perspective of a this young person who has even been a beacon of hope for many adults like myself. I come close to crying every time I read this one, but it feels so important. Whatever you think about this very young public figure is mostly irrelevant to the lessons this book can teach about the fundamental relationships between our own pollution and how it affects the quality of life for everyone. Really, they could have been even more fierce with it, but I prefer this somewhat unassuming kind of approach. Bravo to the creators and publishers on a job well done! This series rocks!

Modern Biography

This is a cool overview of this young activist’s life so far. It really is a great introduction to a current news maker. The book is written in a very relatable way, and the illustrations are perfect to accompany the text.

Inspiring for Young and Old!

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who despises seeing the way the earth has been affected by irresponsible human activity. Even though she suffers from autism and Asperger’s syndrome, she started expressing her discontent and concerns at a very young age. By the age of fifteen, she began cutting school to protest the wrongs she saw. She began public speaking shortly after, in efforts to fix the wrongs that were being done to the earth.

This wonderful book about Greta Thunberg, in the Little People, Big Dreams series is wonderful! I have enjoyed many in this series, so my expectations for this book were high. This story is written with inspiring young children in mind. It is written in a way to appeal to young children. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. The book is sturdily bound with durable pages. My young students loved this book. Frankly, they were in awe!

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
