Silly story kids will enjoy

This is a silly story about a tiger who is afraid of worms and worms who are afraid of tigers. It makes for a great read aloud, and was enjoyed by my 1st grade students.

As a teacher, I enjoyed this book because it felt like a great fit for a book study. In addition to summarizing the story and making connections, my 1st graders read up on and wrote real facts about tigers and worms. We also tried to draw the tiger. It helped make online distance learning more fun.

What is the moral?

This book is supposed to show you that worries are okay to have and I think help you get over them but it totally doesn't. I was kind of disappointed in this story. Not as funny as the regular piggy books.

Mo Willems is a genius.

Anything Mo Willems has something to do with my daughter absolutely loves them. The Elephant and piggie series of books elightened my child so much that her reading went from a little to a lot. Now my daughter wants to read everyday and we now own almost everything Mo Willems has published. These elephant and piggie books are delightful and helps introduce other authors to us that our children will most likely enjoy because he has chosen them. I would suggest mo willems and his books to everyone with small children just learning how to read.

Funny little book.

This book is holarious, it starts out with one animal asking another about this book...like inception, then gets into the book itself about a tiger who is afraid of worms and then the worms being afraid of tigers, but thankeful for the dirt he dropped as it might contain worms... I got it for my brother for christmas as an inside joke, I think I liked it more than he did.

A story within a story about a tiger who is afraid of worms!

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Tiger is strong and big and brave. Tiger is not afraid of anything... except worms!

The much-loved duo, Elephant & Piggie, from the mind of Mo Willems, introduces readers to an adorable tiger, illustrated by Ryan T. Higgins, that has an irrational fear of worms. He is unknowingly benefiting the worms with his fears, which gives us a fun little plot twist that really makes the story!

This story starts out with a letter to the reader from Mo about how Elephant and Piggie love to read so much that they've decided to share some of their favorite books with us! It then shows a picture of Elephant and Piggie reading 'What About Worms!' and immediately begins with them talking about this very book before the book even starts, which offers a bit of layering to the overall story and introduces readers to something new using something they may already know and love!

Similar to the original Elephant & Piggie books, this story has thought bubbles with minimal text and onomatopoeia that is perfect for children learning to read. We have already fallen in love with Ryan T. Higgins' illustration-style from his Mother Bruce picture book series and recognized his work in the tiger right away! His characters are always super cute and expressive and this tiger is no exception! He's actually got plenty to say about worms!

This story had my five-year-old laughing out loud and asking for more!

Fun book for younger child

This is a very cute story with nice puns at the end, but too short and reading level is too simple for my 6-year-old granddaughter. Highly recommend for younger than 6.
