Absolutely wonderful!!!

I LOVE Adriana Trigiani's books. Very Valentine was absolutely wonderful. Funny, sad, every emotion possible. I was thrilled that there was a second book to this one (which is just as wonderful) and a 3rd will be released this fall. I found Valentine to be my best friend and loved her family and friends. Great story and love the personal family references (in all her books). Ms. Trigiani is a TREASURE!! Please keep writing!!

Awesome and Fun Light Chick-Flick-type novel!

So over Christmas break my second fun-book was Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani.

Very Valentine is the cute and highly descriptive tale of Valentine, an Italian American living in New York with her grandmother, a famous crafter of handmade shoes. Unfortunately, Grams isn't terribly business-savvy and their about to lose their business (which they also live over). So what's a girl to do? Fall in love with a gorgeous chef, try really hard to save the business in order to spite her money-grubbing brother who's after the brownstone and plan an escape trip to Italy!

The descriptions are really fantastic-- from the descriptions of the food, to the shoes, to the sprawling Italian countryside and the secret caves in Capri... all of it really made me want to plan a trip to Italy.

Trigiani has also recently written a YA novel and a sequel to Very Valentine called Brava, Valentine (and apparently there is a trip to Argentina!

Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani

I love the Valentine novels by Adriana Trigiani. She even wrote one for seniors about a former dressmaker at a posh NYC department store. Valentine is a modern young woman whose career as a custom shoe designer and maker (she calls it building a shoe) is so important to her that she has trouble juggling her romance(s). Set in NYC's Greenwhich Village, she sets out to take over and save her grandmother mentor's family shoe business. She travels to Italy to buy leathers and meets an older man who wants her. Surprising ending and a great experience getting there. You will love Valentine too. There is a laugh on almost every page.
