Batman and the TMNT together?! Aw heck YES!!!!

As if the TMNT meeting up with the Ghostbusters wasn't awesome enough, now they find themselves stranded in Gotham City, along with Master Splinter this time, following a battle with General Krang after getting blasted with his portal projector. It seems that Splinter and the turtles' problems are doubled this time too: for one, there is no known substance in the DC universe that bares a resemblance to the mutagen that transformed them which is causing the mutagen in their blood to deteriorate and become inept. Once that happens Splinter and the turtles will revert back to their base animal forms and lose their humanity forever. If that wasn't bad enough Shredder and a small number of his Foot ninja have been sent to Gotham as well and he teams up with two of Gotham's greatest villains, first The Penguin (who Shredder finds to be quite laughable) and later with Ras' Al Ghul, effectively forming an alliance between the Foot Clan and the League Of Assassins. I know, right? What exactly is Ras' and Shredder's plan you ask? First Shredder will wait patiently until Splinter and the turtles revert to their base forms and, quite literally, crush the life out of them while he and Ras' claim Gotham as the new seat of their shared empire using a newly constructed portal machine in Gotham to bring in more Foot ninja to fill out their numbers. They also trick the turtles' buddy Casey Jones into delivering a fresh batch of mutagen to Gotham under the assumption that it will be used to help Splinter and the turtles, only for the two arch villains take it away from him to use on the inmates of Arkham Asylum as a way to kick start their plan. There is only one man who can help set things straight now, although this may be difficult for Batman as well, even with help from Robin (Damien), especially with the time constraint. This is one of the best cross overs I have seen in a while and was excited to read it being a fan of both Batman and TMNT. I have also heard that an animated version is rumored to be in the works so keep your fingers crossed. Definitely recommended for fans of either universe, or like me, both universes.

a rat who taught them and best of all an emotionally unstable orphan who dresses up ...

This crossover has everything.
Teenage Mutants that know martial arts, a rat who taught them and best of all an emotionally unstable orphan who dresses up like dracula and throws sharp metal objects shaped like his logo at the mentally ill.
Oh plus Pizza.

Great read, highly recommend.

Dissappointing

This book is garbage!! It seem like the 'long story short' version of what could've been a great comic. I started thinking maby I've missed a volume or something. Just when you think, 'wow the story is geeting interesting and it has a ways to go' BAM! Its the end! Literally a third of the book is variant covers of original comics. A waste of money unless you're 12yrs old and waste of time reading. Dissappointing!!

A crossover we didn't deserve, but unknowingly needed.

I can't believe this actually exists and yet, it does. I won't spoil anything, even though a cartoon adaptation of this has been made, but I will spoil this old saying: "The source material is better" (or something along those lines).

Batman/TMNT is a fun comic for everyone. Even adults. It has the comedy and the dark from both worlds, managing to find a balance between them that never compromises the other. Yes, the idea itself is very fanfiction-y. But its fanfiction done right. You get fights that you probably never thought about but ultimately recognize as a dream match made in heaven. Including the team-ups of both heroes and villains.

But the second biggest positive (outside of the crazy idea that someone clearly dreamt up while on something) would have to be the crazy ideas that they take advantage of. I won't give it away but there's a sequence at Arkham Asylum that is pure genius and is worth getting the comic for alone.

The artwork is also very good, including the writing. Everyone is within character and the story is so crazy that it surprisingly makes sense within the rules of each other universe.

And that's about all I can say without giving anything away. I highly recommend buying this comic. Yes, there are sequels and I do recommend them, but this is the best one they have done. If you're a fan of either IP, or both, then you should buy this comic. It's worth the price.

Batman/TMNT crossover equals lots of fun

** spoiler alert ** Holly Cow that was a lot better than I expected. It did a superb job of combining both universes. I was really nice to have the all the variant covers in it. The art work was great throughout the books. The storyline was what made me fall in love with it. It has comedy from a certain turtles, even with the story being so serious. The multi-verse was done a lot better than the recently made movie. Definitely worth a read if you like TMNT or Batman.
