Features & Highlights

  • When you read a novel by Rosamunde Pilcher you enter a special world where emotions sing from the heart. A world that lovingly captures the ties that bind us to one another-the joys and sorrows, heartbreaks and misunderstandings, and glad, perfect moments when we are in true harmony. A world filled with evocative, engrossing, and above all, enjoyable portraits of people's lives and loves, tenderly laid open for us...Oliver Dobbs was a writer first, and a man second. To him other people were tools. Even though he had broken Victoria Bradshaw's heart once, when he arrived on her doorstep with a two-year-old son, she found she could not refuse him, and the three of them set out for a castle in Scotland. There, Victoria meets the new laird and finds her crushed spirit awakening.

The book was in rougher shape than I expected.

I believe I paid too much for the very rough copy of this book.

A good read!

Another good read from Rosamunde Pitcher. Not as lengthy as "Coming Home" or "September" but still a good story to enjoy.

Good buy

These new editions of her books by St. Martins are an exception buy. Lovely new cover art, but very old fashioned font inside.

Not my favorite

I hate reading any book, (and I don't last very long) where the main character is such a wimp, especially a woman. Elizabeth drove me up the wall ! Such a talented writer and I have many of her books, but this one disappointed me. She could have turned Elizabeth into a strong character - and who in their right mind would put up with Elizabeth did ? I know the author has retired - but too bad this one can't be a ' do-over.'
