The Beach House Cookbook: Easy Breezy Recipes with a Southern Accent

One of my go-to authors is Mary Kay Andrews. Her novels are always entertaining and invariably land on my favorite beach reads list. That’s why I was so excited to receive a copy of The Beach House Cookbook. Andrews compiled her favorite recipes in a beautiful cookbook. The photos are gorgeous and will tempt the reader to try each recipe. Lemon cake is my favorite and I can’t wait to try the Lemon Cream Cheese Pound Cake!

The book is divided into theme meals such as Low Country Boil, Fourth of July Dinner; Full Moon Party, and Christmas Brunch. There are many more and each one looks amazing. I especially enjoyed the short description and credit that MKA included with each recipe.

With Mothers Day and Fathers Day coming up soon, The Beach House Cookbook would be a wonderful gift for the cook in your life. *I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

I discovered The Beach House Cookbook in a book basket at our summer rental cottage. As soon as I arrived home last year, I ordered a copy for my collection. Summers on the lake in Michigan now include many of these fabulous dishes! The recipes are AMAZING! The young adult crowd comes back for second helpings...and thirds!

I love her books but this cookbook was not a good purchase for me.... nothing new and everything very basic and ho hum. Wish I could have given it a good report.

I have to qualify this review and state I love Mary Kay Andrews books! This recipe book is great because the meals are simple and you can do in non high end kitchen and the meals will turn out awesome. The ingredients are easy to source. I loved the photography, the family antidotes decorating ideas as well. I will be using this book for my next few dinner parties and know that they will be a success.

Full of fun recipes that are appropriate not just for summer but for any time of year.
Contains the usual suspects of summer fare including: potato salad, buttermilk brined chicken.
Winter recipes: Homemade gravlax to making use of winter citrus (Meyer lemon bar trifle)
Spring: the cherry balsamic-glazed lamb chops are to die for.
Makes full use of summer farmers markets
A fair mix of make ahead that you can tote to a picnic and last minute meals.

Mary Kay Andrews is my favorite Arthur, I love her Southern writing style so when her new cook book came out I had to buy it. We tried several things already and can't wait to fix more! It's a keeper.

Well written and sturdy. You will be too hungry reading the wonderful recipes to not stop and try one. I love the photos and commentary and while I'm not a super cook, the recipes are easy enough for me. You will feel like you're at the beach and ready to cook.

Checked this cookbook out of library buying and glad I did. Too many pictures with nothing to do with the recipes. Please if you make the shrimp dishes clean the vein out of the shrimp. People from the North don't seem to mind, but Floridians
certainly care.

This book is gorgeous, beautifully, carefully curated and is now my summer meal plan. Well done once again Mary Kay! Can't wait for your next project.

This is a wonderful cookbook with recipes that I mix and match - works for my style of entertaining at my Summer House. I have made several of the recipes and they were all wonderful - I love this cookbook and I have hundreds ... seriously 😳
