A lot of hype but it doesn't stand out from any other Diana picture book

Diana was the most photographed person of her time yet this book is full of the same photos as every other book.
If your a novice Diana collector you'll enjoy this. It's a well put together book.
If your like me and a serious Diana collector - skip it you already have all these same tired photos.

Beautiful collection of photographs…

…most of which you've probably seen before. Some of them are Black & White (I think some of those have also been seen in color) most are in color. There's a 19 page forward by Tina Brown, you might call it a short biography of Diana, and an epilogue section that covers the years since her death.
Each photograph has a caption, on the opposite page, with at least the year it was taken, some give a specific date. A few pictures also come with a quote by someone…including some by Diana herself.
Beautiful book, the most irritating thing about it is that some photos are so large they're split between pages, though nothing you're likely to think "important" is ever in the split.
The book is worth owning by any Diana collector.

A Beautiful Tribute to Princess Diana

I have been buying and collecting books about Princess Diana since shortly after marriage to Prince Charles. Although none of these pictures are ones that are new to me, I loved looking through this book and reading the featured quotes from Diana and some of her close friends. This would be a perfect coffee table book. I had mine sitting out over the past few days and the few friends who stopped at my house all picked it up and looked through it. Perfect for browsing and can be enjoyed more than once.

Okay, but a lot of the same photos

A good book; however, I guess I was expecting new photographs. Many of those available here have been seen before. Frankly, I've purchased magazines commemorating the 20th anniversary with newly released photos; this could have been in a magazine format instead of hardback. That said, the photographs appear clear.

Pleasant, but that's all

As the 20th anniversary approaches of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, TV specials and books are flooding the market. You might think that Tina Brown, with all her experience in publishing, and her acquaintance with Diana, would produce a standout book.

But while it’s pleasant to leaf through this 200-page book and its 100+ photos, it’s no more than that. The photos are familiar ones, the format is on the smaller side for a photography book, and the text is basic. I think most people would be happier checking it out from the library rather than spending hard-earned money on it.

Great rarer photos, maybe a few too many common pictures, but a well done book

I got this for Christmas and it was my favorite gift last year! Any Diana lover should love this book. Decent amount of rarely seen photos but maybe just a tad too many pictures we’ve all seen before. I wish there’d been more rare pictures but I still loved the book. Well written intro and tribute.

Captures the beauty of a fallen princess

Bought this book for my 10 year old daughter who is obsessed with Diana (as I was when I was a child of the 80s!) She is doing a research project on Diana for her 5th grade ELA class so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. She is always looking at the photos. Love it!
