Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P950: Getting the Most from Nikon's Superzoom Digital Camera

Super well-written! I would dare say this should be a mandatory purchase for anyone who wants to use and understand the P950 to its fullest potential. I'm not certain I would have kept my new P950 were it not for this book. Nikon owes the author a dept of gratitude for helping P950 users get the most out of the camera!

I joined a Facebook site for P900 users "Learning the Nikon P900" and this book was recommended (there is a book by the same author for that model Nikon as well) and this book/author has written "how-tos" for both the Nikon P900 and Nikon P950. I haven't gotten all the way through it, but it offers insights on using the camera that the technical guide does not cover. For what you pay for the camera and extras, this is a no-brainer to help get the most out of the camera. It is a paperback, but is large and has color diagrams for examples. Indexed well.

After recently purchasing a Nikon Coolpix P950 ultrazoom camera, I realized that lack of a complete printed manual would prohibit my learning all the features of this camera. I find reading an online version is clumsy and difficult and I had no interest in downloading and printing several hundred pages. Remember when cameras came with chunky little instruction manuals that covered everything you needed to know? Anyway, I decided to purchase Alexander White's book on this camera and am extremely glad I did. I'm about half-way through it, and it covers features I didn't know this camera had. It reveals how to access all the features and functions, is written in an easy-to-comprehend manner and is well-organized. In addition to teaching all aspects of the P950, it also includes lots of basic photography information that I'd either forgotten or never learned over the decades that I've been taking photographs. If you've purchased the Nikon Coolpix P950, I strongly recommend that you purchase this book; it will help you get the most out of your camera and will add considerably to your enjoyment of it.

If you have the P950 you need this book. I use my camera for travel, birding and events. This book helps me get off auto modes and get better results. From learning the basics of aperture, iso, shutter and lighting to more advance concepts that are easily explained. My photos are so much better once I learned a few tricks from this book. I digested a chapter or two each day and just used what I learned as I snapped. I quickly found my images were sharper and better with less noise or blur.

I read this book to get insight on the Nikon P950. Many good hints on getting unusual photographs and taking advantage of the multiple functions of the camera.

This book made ALL the difference for learning how to use my camera to the fullest. Worth every penny!!!

This is a complicated camera but once you really study the owner's manual your set to take pictures. Not sure my wife will really use all the attachments however. Would be nice if they had a "HOW TO USE" manual for the beginner.

Being 76 years old and can not carry lots of heavy camera gadgets, this camera fulfills all my needs. Great functions and capabilities.

These books are always great and found to be most helpful.
