Description

"Dewdney’s verse is polished and precise, and her paintings exude their typical good cheer...A warm intro to Christmas for Llama Llama’s youngest fans."xa0— Publishers Weekly Anna Dewdney was a teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children. She continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden and she lovingly restored an 18th century farmhouse in southern Vermont. She wrote, painted, gardened, and lived there with her partner, Reed, her two daughters, two wirehaired pointing griffons, and one bulldog.xa0Anna passed away in 2016, but her spirit will live on in her books.

Short & Sweet.

I bought this for my 1 year old daughter for a Christmas stocking stuffer. She loves this book. She gets a big smile on her face ever time I say the title. Each page is only 1 sentence, so it's a quick easy read, even Donald Trump could read it! The pages are thick and durable, which is a must.

Llama Llama Love!

This was in the top 5 Christmas bedtime story books we read to our 2 year old this year. For some reason he really loved the last page where Mama Llama is carrying Baby Llama up to bed. He would say "babyyyy" every time I reached that page. My son and I are big fans of the Llama Llama books and this one did not disappoint. The drawings and story captured his attention and he asked to be read this book every night before bedtime.

when my child starts to read it will be a good beginner book

The book is more for babies. I expected something with a little more content. There are four or five words on each page. Perhaps, when my child starts to read it will be a good beginner book, but its too short to read to her.

Not good

I want to like this, I do. I love the Llama Llama story books and the board books have been pretty good, too. This was just disappointing. The story lacks any sort of real story line. It's just blah. Not worth the money. :(

Great illustrations, meant for the earliest readers! (Babies!)

I don't know why the reviews here are so negative - my son LOVES these little board books! They are for babies - like the other board brooks in the little library - not really for toddlers like the original books. My son is 7 months old and has been smiling at Llama Llama since he was a newborn. We love the illustrations! Very short, simple and sweet. Definitely recommend this series for early readers.

My 1.5 year old loves it, but i don't know why

My 1.5 year old loves this book, always pointing at it and getting excited when i read it. But its short, simple, and really not a story. Drawing are OK, but nothing great. But I have to rate it high because well, my kids likes it.

Fun rhyming book.

I bought this book from our school's book fair (I am an Elementary School Counselor) for my 1 1/2 yr. old son as part of our "New Christmas book every week leading up to Christmas" tradition and he absolutely LOVES it! The first night we read it, he made me read it twice and then went to sleep snuggling it and we have read it every night since then! He loves to repeat the words and point to the pictures. The key is to make it interactive by having him point out things in the pictures and adding sound effects such as the bells chiming or the caroling singing, I would definitely recommend it!

Short, sweet and cute

People complain about this book but I think it is short, sweet and cute. A very young child will be just fine with it. Use your skills and ask your child questions, point to the toboggan, the colors, the stripe clothing, etc...an appropriate learning resource for the season.

Cute board book

We love Llama Llama books. We gave this too our daughter on Christmas Eve 2014 as part of her Christmas Eve box. She got so excited about "Llama." We still read it often 2.5 months later and she insists on sleeping with this book in her crib. Llama Llama Jingle Bells is a very simple board book intended for babies. However, my daughter is almost 2 and still loves it.

Great for kiddos

I like the book, as does my daughter. We love llamas! I gave the book 4 starts because when it came it was cut along the back like a box cutter got it or something.
