You Are Not Alone

I'm a fan of the authors, and I particularly enjoyed The Wife Between Us. The issue I had with You Are Not Alone is that the setup went on for much too long, and I began to lose interest in the plot. There's an excellent plot twist about two-thirds of the way in, which redeemed the novel for me. The protagonist, Shay Miller, is also a quirky and engaging character, so I ended up really enjoying the book -- despite the sagging middle.

It takes a long time to get interesting. Very slow and way too many characters to try to keep straight.

I was so excited when this finally came out in paperback because I LOVED the first two books that the authors collaborated on. Right from the start I got the sense I wouldn’t like this one as much, and sadly I was right. It felt forced and there was one unexpected plot twist towards the end, but the rest was pretty predictable.

3.5 stars, but rounded up.

This book will have you constantly thinking “what in the f***.” There are so many twists within the story that you never know what’s going to happen next. “You Are Not Alone” is a wild ride, so hang onto those hats!

Shay Miller doesn’t have the best of luck in life. She can’t find love. Her job isn’t going anywhere/doing well for her. She comes across sisters days after she witnessed a traumatic event. They are the “perfect” girls in her eyes, and she decided to befriend them, especially with Shay being quite lonely. After become friends with Cassandra and Jane, she doesn’t feel as lonely anymore and things start to feel like they are getting better. Everything appears normal in the beginning. The sisters are helping her change her style. After awhile, she starts to feel like things are unusual. What’s going on? Who or what is Shay turning into? She would do anything to fit in and be liked, and if that includes looking de@th in the face, she just might have to. What will Shay do?

I listened to this book as an audiobook, and I enjoyed it. I haven’t had much luck with audiobooks, and I was really surprised with this one! I never knew what was going to happen, and when I said it will have you constantly thinking “what in the f***,” that’s a lot of what went through my head while listening to this book. This was my first multi-POV book that I’ve read/listened to. I love being able to know what’s happening or going through another characters mind, and this book did just that. The ending is definitely not what I had expected, but it turned out better than what I was originally thinking it would be.

Another great book by these authors!

This book is well worth the read and a great thriller. I love the way the authors talk from the perspective of the characters .

Book moved from beginning to end. I will buy more from these authors.

Another one out of the park for these two authors. Very well written and suspenseful. Read it in one sitting up all night.
