Features & Highlights

  • It’s love. Trust me.
  • After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary—schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.
  • Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel will fight for a

Sparks, Snark and Love

Wrapped Up In You is the eighth in the Heartbreaker Bay series but can be read as a stand alone story. This is Ivy and Kel's story about overcoming a troublesome childhood and making your own way. Ivy grew up with a single mother who was never around and a brother who was always in trouble. She left at a young age and has moved around until she finally found a place that she wants to call home with friends that she can trust. Kel is on leave from his police job in Idaho after being injured by his corrupt partner. He has trust issues because of his childhood in which his mother cheated on his father and she abandoned him and his sister to his grandparents just after his father passed away. When Kel and Ivy meet, there are sparks and snark to attract. As they explore the attraction, both their pasts come back to interfere with their budding relationship. They both must learn to trust and not allow the past to influence the future. This is a story filled with laughs, a little drama, a little angst and a great love story. The characters are flawed, realistic and relatable. Jill Shalvis is my go to author when I need laughs and escape which can be found in the Heartbreaker Bay series.

Totally Engrossing

Now, this has been a novel which was hard for me to put down, I loved it that much. Although I, like the one person so far who gave the book only a two-star review, could easily have done without the constant kick-boxing (ugh), the rest of the story fascinated me and I loved both ever-so-tough Ivy and that sweetheart of a man, Kel. I swear it's barely taken me two days to read this book. I found nothing boring about it whatsoever. The only main character I couldn't stand was, understandably enough, Ivy's brother Brandon, a totally useless idiot.

Yep, I love this book.

** Love Ivy & Kel **

It was great going back to Heartbreaker Bay and meeting up with everyone. Ivy has never been in one place for any length of time. Since landing in Heartbreaker Bay and having her taco truck she finally feels at home. Her childhood was pretty messed up which has left her pretty messed up. She trusts no one and has high walls around herself. She opens up to no one.

Kel is in town for a break after being hurt on the job. He is also messed up due to a troubled childhood. One of his issues is that he hates liars. When he meets Ivy at her Taco truck he is taken with her cooking and wants to get to know her better.

Ivy and Kel's story is told as only Jill Shalvis can tell. Some empathy, some tears, some laughs and a whole lot of enjoyment as you follow them on their road to a happy ever after.
