An Okay Book But Some Problems SPOILER ALERT
This I think is an okay book. Its better than the last one. Firstly, Alderheart's romance. Why does he need one? Its happened all ready with Leafpool and Crowfeather but at least it didn't go that far. I have to admit though Velvet and Alderheart were kinda cute. Secondly, the names in this book. Not just Twigpaw's but the kit names too. Flipkit, Snapkit, Thriftkit?! Are you kidding me?! Twigbranch was the same thing. It was disappointing waiting for so long for the next book then find out how dumb Twigpaw's name was. Bramblestar made it worse with his speech. Plus I think Twigleaf would have been better. Finleap was a great name. Thirdly, the attitude changes in some of the cats. Sparkpelt went from being the most trusting, kind, energetic cat to being a bad, mean cat. Especially to Twigpaw. Also Bramblestar having odd feelings about Tigerstar. For pete sake Tigerheart is way better then Tigerclaw. Lastly, Shadowclan. It already fell once to Sol. Why are they doing it again? Plus the remaining rouge cats returning. I saw it coming. Sleekwhisker and Nettle are jerks. I might add that in chapter 3, it seemed that they intended to kill off Squirrelflight but then didn't. I quote from the book: "Where have you been?" The blind cat demanded." What took you so long? More cats have come down with the sickness-and the worst of them is Squirrelflight!" I was so excited to see if Squirrelflight dies(I don't know why)but then nobody mentions her again. Alderheart never makes a comment about his mother. Then she was seen again when she was better. I was super confused. Things i did like was Jayfeather and Fuzzball, Tree and Violetshine relationship and Tigerheart's resurrection. People give Tigerheart to much hate. Hopefully, the next book is better.

A decent read with some pretty great stuff...
This was a weird book. My rating fluctuates between a 3.5 and a 4. Review will contain spoilers for all previous Warriors books as well as River of Fire.
What I didn't like:
Alderheart having a romance. Why was this necessary?
Twigpaw's warrior name. Twigbranch? Seriously? The whole reason she was named that was so stupid! "Because you've grown from a twig into a branch." Wow. Still sounds awful. When I first read it, I thought it was a typo until Bramblestar continued talking.
Dovewing and Tigerheart running off and doing their own thing and then "conveniently" coming back when they were needed. They really pissed me off because I liked the idea of Dovewing getting over Tigerheart and being mates with Bumblestripe, but no. We had to do the "forbidden" romances.
How everyone is using poor SkyClan! You have cats coming and going in their camps, as well as ShadowClan not staying faithful and it's a huge mess and SkyClan never asked for it, OK?
RiverClan coming back to the group and wanting help. It's your own bloody fault that you need help because you refused to let anyone near you, drama queens.
Tigerheart being brought back to life was...weird. I can't decide if I like it or not.
What I liked:
Violetshine and Tree are adorable.
Tree's new job!! I genuinely love the idea of a Clan ambassador to settle disputes and having it be someone who is outside the Clans' influence!
Resurgence of Darktail's group. Knew that was going to happen.
Jayfeather's sass.
Briarlight's death. It was AWFUL. I cried. But it was so well done because we've had Briarlight around for two whole series now (?) so we've gotten used to her being there, and this came out of nowhere and was superbly done.
WindClan is so helpful and nice now. It's refreshing after dealing with the Onewhisker doppelganger who ruled. (I still believe that Onestar was a bad clone of Onewhisker and Onewhisker is off int eh woods, living out his life).
Greystripe, Brightheart, Cloudtail, and some of the other old gang are still around. It really hit me with this book that Greystripe is the last character who has been around since book one. BOOK ONE. I will be sobbing for hours when he dies. Just go look for me in the closest restroom.
As a whole, I liked this book. Twigpaw (I refuse to use that awful name) was better in this, but I still don't like how she's trying to fix everything herself. She is seriously living up to the "bossy ThunderClan" stereotype. The whole thing with Tree being able to see and talk to dead cats was cool. We've never had anything like that before. But now you have StarClan bringing cats back to life to make them leader and...why? Tigerheart ran off from his clan. He abandoned them, and StarClan wants to make him leader?? Not only that, but as Bramblestar said, having a Tigerstar leading ShadowClan sounds really, really bad. I'm going to have a hard time looking at Tigerheart and not picture Tigerclaw now. The ending to the book was also super happy and that was weird because when has a Warriors book ever ended on a happy note? Other than series' end and a few special editions.
All-in-all, a decent read with some pretty great stuff, and Jayfeather's sass had me dying laughing. Super curious to see where book 6 takes us as I have zero ideas right now.

Involving and compelling, wonderful series of life
My grandson and I are reading this series now for bedtime story time. It is a great, ongoing series. You don't want it to stop. The animals are animals, but have very human feelings and actions. It's a great story to involve children, while also teaching them the ups and downs that happen in life and how to deal with them, or how others deal with them, right or wrong. This is our second series group to read and we didn't want either to stop! The involvement with the characters is real and related to life events and walks the reader through it all.

Major events:Twigpaw and Finpaw are accepted into ThunderClan, a fire happens, Briarlight dies (so sad), Rowanclaw dies (no room
WARNING: SPOILERS
This book was SO GOOD. I had been waiting for so long, and it lived up to my excitement! I loved when Sleekwhisker and Yarrowleaf came back. The new names are so cute! I love the new names-Brindlewing, Smokehaze, Finleap, Dewspring, and Reedclaw.
There was only one part I didn’t like. Briarlight’s death was SO SAD. She didn’t deserve to die so young. But, other than that, the book was great. I liked that Alderheart and Velvet were close, because it’s always nice when the medicine cats don’t just blindly follow the code. I was sad that Sparkpelt and Larksong weren’t mates, but they probably will be.
Can’t wait until September! Crowfeather’s Trial!

Warriors AVOS #5 "River of Fire" *MINOR SPOILERS*
This series is so good! I always impatiently await each book's release! This one didn't disappoint! I got my copy a day early and immediately breezed through it. I'm so happy to see that Twigpaw and Finpaw are allowed back in ThunderClan! I'm a huge fan of the TwigxFin development! I don't know how I feel about Twigpaw's warrior name though (Twigbranch). I do like Finleap though. XD I did cry a few times in the book. Without giving too many specific details away, we get to see apprentices made into warriors, some sad events, and some characters make a reappearance. I can't wait for the next book!
