Dreamy NYC

Reads like a bedtime story book. Made me dream of NYC. As a local, currently living on the west coast, this book was such a comfort. Every photo, even of places I’ve never seen was like seeing them again. I had tears from the very first page to the last. I can’t wait to go home and walk along those streets to see everything on the pages. Something to look at everyday as opposed to other “coffee table” books when you look at them once or sometimes never, and they gather dust. Would love for her to do another one, or more!

The exact representation of New York for me

Even though I have never actually lived in New York, I have been many times and love exploring the city on foot. There's nothing I like more than walking around, discovering hidden charming corners here and there.
This is not a NYC travel guide. You won't see any of the classical NYC landmarks on it. It's a book for people who have already seen all the tourist attractions and want to know the more private NYC. I really appreciate it that the author included the location of every picture.
I felt so represented by this book content...I love NYC because there is so much more than a lively city with big skyscrapers and this is exactly how I like to visit the city: walking around and finding beautiful spots.

Gorgeous photography!

Susan Kaufman's book, "Walk With Me: New York" if filled with absolutely gorgeous photography and it's printed really beautifully, too! I went to Parson's in NYC, lived and worked there, and have taken many photos in the city myself, but I've never been able able to capture it quite like Kaufman does. I love this book!

Buy it! Beautiful book!

Absolutely buy this book! I hope she does more. I would love to see future books dedicated to specific neighborhoods (Please start with the West Village). This book brings me back to my time living in Manhattan. She captures exactly everything I loved about this city. The elaborate storefront displays, the charming cafes, the picturesque brownstones. I love seeing the city through her eyes. I love seeing my favorite places and restaurants in the city. Just buy the book! You won’t regret it!

Hardcover is textbook style not regular coffee-table book

I wanted to give this to a tourist friend who lives overseas. It is not the best hardcover format for a gift. Looks like textbook or library binding. Also, the photos are pretty but similar. Lots of brownstones and storefronts with flowers around.

Open your eyes!

I have been going to NYC since 1969 and now my son lives there. This book will encourage you to look UP and down and every where to see the marvels of this city which will not all be saved so be sure to take photos and notes to bring it all back when it's gone! This just scratches the surface. Create your own chronicle cause each one will be unique and each visit will inspire! I will never forget a quiet snow storm walking to Tavern on Green circa 1973 and sitting in the Crystal Room to the snow coming down....OH MY! It is a beautiful city if you see it as so.

A mix of beauty and curated visual travel guide. Love it!

As a big New York lover and a researcher of all things that make New York the place of all things cool and beautiful, this book is the perfect complement for my obsession with this city. I was happy to see some of my favorite places as well as a lot of new spots that will for sure be on my future to do list when I go back. I love the chapters by neighborhood and the graphic maps are super helpful for those of us who don’t live there but still love to feel like we can get around. The photography perfectly captures the essence of the city. Love this book!
