Vince Flynn Collectors Edition Vol 1

I liked these 3 books, BUT, too many typos Tb instead of To. Every time a character is introduced we have the same "Bio" cut and pasted from the previous book
really a little tedious
In the Kindle version no separation of titles and no way to refer back to a map easily, perhaps I need to learn how to make bookmarks or locations?
Worst thing was at the end of the first book we have a preview for "protect and Defend" which is ahead of the next two books in the collection
a key story line is given away not good at all.

Love Vince Flynn - Hate this edition

I am a HUGE Vince Flynn fan and have read all his books. It's very sad that he passed this last year. I brought this collector's edition for my Kindle as a way to start collecting copies of his books. I was planning to buy all of the collector's editions, but at this rate, it will not happen. I'm reading Term Limits now and the editing in the book is awful. It looks like they used an old version of the manuscript for this digital copy. Here are some of the issues I've noticed so far:
- Section breaks are in the wrong place
- There are random capital letters next to the same lower case letter as though it was changed (ie Tthere)
- Periods and commas are off, making the sentences difficult to read

There is at least one issue every other page, if not on every page. No, these do not make the book un-readable, although it is more cumbersome because I have to try to figure out what the editing should be. That said, when I pay $10 for a digital book (when a trade paperback is less) and the book has been in print for 15 years, I expect the digital version to be as flawless as the print version. Having read the print version, I can assure you this is not the case. If you have not read Vince Flynn - DO NOT BUY THIS collector's edition. Buy the paper books and read those.

Whoever put this together - PLEASE fix it. This is an embarrassment to your company and also does a disservice to Vince Flynn's writing. I will not be buying any more collector's editions until it's clear they are plagued with these issues.

Poorly Scanned

I read the electronic Kindle version. It is obvious that they scanned in the book, but did not run a spell check. There are many errors including words that had no vowels. The book had the full price, but they were lazy so I felt cheated.

Vince Flynn Collectors Edition #1

I did not get the full THREE BOOKS! There is no definitive separation of the books,
just the small hash marks at the bottom of my kindles screen to give ANY INDICATION as to
which book I am reading and WHERE I am.
Then, at the end I found this was not correct either.
My final book, "The Third Option", is only two to three chapters of the book.
I cannot download the rest of this book even after calling Kindle support because it is
a SIMON and SCHUSTER or should I say SCHYSTER issue!

GET REAL SIMON AND SCHYSTER~get some editors on your staff and read these before they are released to the public.

Great story lines

I'm getting through the full series about Mitch Rapp and it's all great entertainment; full of relevent detail and explains a lot about how international relations and espionage might work (remember it's fiction).

I don't like the fact that Amazon's prices keep going up. Next time I'll see if I can pick a whole series of books up front at a price I accept rather than get roped in by a good yarn and paying whatever it takes for the rest of the books.

I'm also at a loss to see how some books fit into the series. There seems to be vast gaps in the middle that I'd like to know about. It's a bit like seeing Star Wars episodes 4-6, then 1-3, but worse.

Term Limits, Transfer of Power, Third Option

Liked this trilogy and am reading Mr Flynn's next book now. I like the way he goes back and forth among his characters but within the same time line. I love his 'Mitch Rapp' character who puts up with 'no BS' from anyone including the president. Good story lines, except too many higherups are being eradicated. I have suggested these books to my friends as they were suggested to me from a friend.

Never disappoints

Vince Flynn is an exceptional writer of this genre of spy/thriller novel. I wish we could have had him around a while longer to see where the Mitch Rapp series would eventually go.

I wrote the above because it wants 20 plus words. Actually my headline says everything you need to know.

Late addition: I just read a few other's reviews. I'm afraid if one is going to be a Kindle user, spelling & grammer errors are one of the things you are going to have to get used to, at least for now. I'm on my 3rd Kindle and who knows how many books. A lot of books are fine, more or less, but a great many have laughable errors; permission briefing instead of premission or pre-mission briefing and many, many more that make you stop and wonder if the publishers ever heard the words editor or proofreader. At the moment, electronic books are a way to suck more dollars out of the marketplace, and some publishers will do an exceptional job, most will do a good job and unfortunately, too many will ignore quality to make an extra nickel a copy.

On the plus side: So far, I've never seen a goof I couldn't make sense out of without losing the flow of the narrative, and I've never had a book, as some people have evidently, that was missing chapters. In any of the 4 three-book Vince Flynn collections I own, I did not find it that difficult to navigate through the books or to go from one book to another, although it is not intuitive; i.e., move to the end of the first novel and page forward to get to the second or go to the beginning of the second or third novel and page back to get to the previous one. As soon as you're in a given novel, you can use the GoTo function to see the sections from "Cover" to "About the Author". There is no master index, as one could and probably should expect, but since I want to read the books in sequence anyway, it's not that big a deal to me. YMMV. As for the preview of an upcoming book that is not the next in sequence, this is the way the Mitch Rapp print versions are. Atria is simply scanning in the entire print version. Using out of sequence previews is pretty common, though; the Jack Reacher series comes to mind as an example.

IMHO, the Kindle, especially the Paperwhite that I now use, is such an incredibly richer experience than paper manuscripts, I find it is well worth the minor hassles of poor scanning and lack of editing. Being able to do dictionary and Wikipedia lookups, for example is priceless. I've bought electronic versions of print books I aleady owned when I wanted to re-read them. Likewise, for me, having Flynn's novels in sequence outweighs the lack of quality in the mastering process. Again, YMMV. That said, however, there is no excuse whatsoever for not receiving the entire manuscript and being unable to get the problem fixed, and I can see why some readers are understandably upset. I, for one, think a great many of the electronic books are overpriced given their age and time in print. I sympathize with all these concerns. As for Vince Flynn, however, whether you read him electronically or on paper or audio book, if you like this kind of fiction, you won't be disappointed in the read.

Everyone should read "Term Limits!"

How Vince Flynn was able to predict what is currently going on in Washington is beyond me, but this is a taut and well-crafted thriller. I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep.

Fun read but a little slow

I did enjoy this book. It seemed to be more of a set up book for future books in the series. Hard to compare after the second book, Transfer of Power. That book was VERY intense. The series is a fun read.

Wish we had a few Mitch Rapps available to solve a host of problems which need solving.

Love Mitch Rapp.
