The first two volumes of Memories revealed the fates of Zero, Aido and Yori, and gave us Seiren's backstory. This volume catches us up on the fates of many of Vampire Knight's supporting characters.

Half of them turn out to have gotten well-deserved happy endings. Shiki and Rima's is typically, adorably and amusingly matter-of-fact, yet shows that they're as devoted to eachother as their more outwardly emotional counterparts. Kain and Ruka also finally get what they deserves as his devotion to Ruka shows dividends in the most openly romantic storyline of the volume.

Unfortunately, there's also some sadness. The normal passage of time means that the Night Class alumni have to brace themselves to say goodbye to yet another loved one who isn't as long-lived as them. We also get a rather melancholy and somewhat tearjerking inner monologue from Ichijo - who is quietly confirmed to have been the beautiful male vampire with acacia colored hair and kind demeanor who devotedly watched over Kaname during his long sleep. Without doubt, he deserves more than what life has given him - and it ironically seems at this point that he'll be the one Night Class alumni who won't have a life partner and would arguably have made the best parent out of all of them. It will be interesting to see what happens if and when he interacts with Kaname, and what Kaname's reaction will be if he learns what he was to Ichijo.

I feel amazon prime is great with the price of manga books. I would have to drive out to a barnes and noble, the price is gonna be cover price. I love the series and Matsuri Hino art style so I'm glad it's available here.

Love VK and was looking forward to this volume. Only minor thing I had was that my book came with a big fat crease/bend to the cover. Really disappointed. When you are expecting a brand new book, there should be no creases, bends, or torn pages.

I absolutely love Vampire Knights. Hino's artwork is beautiful. If I could have all her manga's in color, I'd die a happy woman. Having them in black and white is just fine too. Memories is so special. Seeing what has happened to beloved friends and family of Yuki is so heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once. If you loved volumes 1-19 you must read Memories.
