Description

Review Of any book that Christine Caine has written, Unashamed has unmatched potential to bring deep healing into the lives of those who are broken and hurting. Each chapter is over- flowing with raw transparency, healing grace, and scriptural hope. Whether you are struggling or know someone who is, this book will build your faith and equip you to move from shame to freedom and God’s ultimate plan for your life. ( –Craig Groeschel, senior pastor of Life.Church and author of #Struggles―Following Jesus in a Selfie-Centered World )Christine Caine is undeniably anointed, unashamedly Christ-focused, and unguardedly real. Simply---her work is unparalleled. You---your soul---can’t afford not to read her. ( –Ann Voskamp, New York Times bestselling author of The Greatest Gift and One Thousand Gifts )There’s no one better equipped than my friend Christine Caine to speak to the power of shedding shame in the lives of believers. Her words here provide a pathway to freedom from a life shaped by shame. Her sincere and strong voice will inspire you, and her own display of courage will give you strength to step fully into God’s love and grace. ( –Judah Smith, lead pastor, The City Church, Seattle, and )I memorized the verse from Romans about there being no shame or condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus when I was a little girl; unfortunately, I was still crippled by shame as a grown woman decades later. From my experience, shame is one of the most effective tools the enemy uses to oppress believers and emasculate the church. Which makes this book a MUST READ. Frankly, I encourage you to buy several cases of these puppies and pass them out to your entire community! ( –Lisa Harper, author and Bible teacher )In Unashamed, Christine Caine acknowledges that shame does not discriminate---it seeps into the lives of the successful as well as the downcast. But Christine shares as only she can---with great passion and authenticity---about the path away from darkness and shame. A path to freedom. God is bigger than our pasts, bigger than our mistakes. If you let it, Unashamed will transform your life and set you on a path to the abundant life God has for you. ( –Mark Batterson, New York Times bestselling author of The Circle Maker and lead pastor of National Community Church )Shame holds us back, holds us down, and holds us hostage. But in Unashamed, Christine shows us we don’t have to let this be the reality of our lives. Her raw honesty and unwavering belief in God’s good plan is the refreshing encouragement your soul needs! ( –Lysa TerKeurst, New York Times bestselling author and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries )If the enemy’s weapons of choice are shame and fear, then think of Unashamed as a heavenly atomic bomb. ( –Steven Furtick, pastor, Elevation Church, and New York Times bestselling author ) About the Author Christine Caine is an Australian born, Greek blooded, lover of Jesus, activist, author and international speaker. Features & Highlights

  • Bestselling author, speaker, and activist Christine Caine helps you overcome past guilt and live an unashamed life.
  • Shame can take on many forms. It hides in the shadows of the most successful, confident and high-achieving woman who struggles with balancing her work and children, as well as in the heart of the broken, abused and downtrodden woman who has been told that she will never amount to anything. Shame hides in plain sight and can hold us back in ways we do not realize. But Christine Caine wants readers to know something: we can all be free.
  • “I know. I’ve been there,” writes Christine. “I was schooled in shame. It has been my constant companion from my very earliest memories. I see shame everywhere I look in the world, including in the church. It creeps from heart to heart, growing in shadowy places, feeding on itself so that those struggling with it are too shamed to seek help from shame itself.”
  • In Unashamed, Christine reveals the often-hidden consequences of shame—in her own life and the lives of so many Christian women—and invites you to join her in moving from a shame-filled to a shame-free life.
  • In her passionate and candid style, Christine leads you into God’s Word where you will see for yourself how to believe that God is bigger than your mistakes, your inadequacies, your past, and your limitations. He is not only more powerful than anything you’ve done but also stronger than anything ever done to you. You can deal with your yesterday today, so that you can move on to what God has in store for you tomorrow—a powerful purpose and destiny he wants you to fulfill.
  • Join the journey. Lay ahold of the power of Jesus Christ today and step into the future—his future for you—a beautiful, full, life-giving future, where you can even become a shame-lifter to others. Live unashamed!

Great author with a great message.

Loved the book, read it as part of an online Bible study group. I used the study guide with the dvds. I felt that a lot of it was not necessarily applicable to me and the point I am in in my life but I did gain a wealth of information from the book. Christine is a great speaker and a great writer. She shows so much compassion in her writing. She has overcome a great deal of personal obstacles that would make anyone falter but her attitude and enthusiasm for preaching the gospel is awesome. If you have ever felt overwhelmed with shame in your past or present, this book is a great tool to help you overcome that shame through Christ. I would recommend reading it even if you don't feel overwhelmed by shame. You can gain some insightful information.

Wonderful Read and just in time!

A friend recommended this read a few months after I lost my husband. She too had lost her husband.. I felt lost, like something was my fault like I could have done more to save him (his heart stopped). Christine Caine's book taught me that I have nothing to be ashamed of or feel guilty for. Life has a way of trying to make us feel like we did something wrong to cause our outcome, when in reality, that isn't it at all. Thank you for this great read, I would highly recommend it for anyone that is feeling empty or ashamed!

Women please take the step and buy this book. There is healing, freedom, and love found on the pages of this book. God has used Christine Caine to share personal stories along with scripture to share how shame has covered our freedom. Christine comes at this too common topic with honesty, vulnerability and transparency before the Lord as she shares her heart and all that the Holy Spirit has done in her life. You will not want to miss this book!! There is freedom for you in this book.

Christine shows us how to live free from shame!

In this book, Christine shows us that everyone has some shame from their past. Once Christine tells us about our shame that is lurking in our minds, then she tells us how to deal with that shame and move past it through our relationship with Jesus Christ. In the book, Christine says “Shame makes us feel small. Flawed. Not good enough…. Shame is the fear of being unworthy, and it adversely affects our relationship with God, ourselves, and others.” Her book refers to this Scripture as explanation of the purpose of her book–
Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” This book can free you from shame and let you live the life God created you for! This is a great book! There is a study guide and DVD if you want help using the book to combat shame.

Don't think you can relate, just wait. We all can!

Christine Caine is a hilariously down to earth author that speaks truth into the lives of young women. I bought this book thinking "i'm not sure if i'll relate but I love her, so lets try it!" and finished it thinking "OH MY GOODNESS, shame everywhere and EVERY young woman needs to know that there is freedom." She speaks about her journey working through the shame in her life and shed's light on an undiscussed topic. SO thankful for the book's insights. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!

Shame is something most women will not confront or admit ...

Shame is something most women will not confront or admit to unless they are face to face with it, sometimes without choice. I joined a woman's group a month ago and did not know which book they were doing until last minute. When I found out, I almost wanted to pull out. I sensed the pain through the "wilderness" that was to come. I have read through 3/4 of the book so far and can say that this book is powerful. It is a simple read, but dense with stories and advice that will/can change your life. Leaving behind the bondages of shame will forever change the way you encounter others. and Yourself. and most importantly, God.
