Pretty good! I thoroughly enjoyed it

Superrrr easy read and despite all the negatives I’ve read from others, it was enjoyable and such a page turner. I’m a sucker for cliche tropes so the whole broody and dominant male lead with shy, pure-natured female lead fighting their pull towards each other is a guilty pleasure! I will admit that some parts were kinda crazy, there were a few twists and turns that played out in a way that made the whole storyline underwhelming i think. ALSO, Ava’s sunshiny and naive disposition got a little irritating sometimes (perhaps because of my second-hand embarrassment from some of the stuff she did). BUT overall, I really liked it and it definitely made me want to continue the rest of the series!! :)

So Bad. Terrible writing and couldn’t finish the book.

I am confused by any positive reviewers of this book. The writing is TERRIBLE. It’s catered towards preteen or teenagers at the oldest. It’s as is the writer took the cheesiest and most common sentences and words from other romance books ans placed them wherever. Absolutely no depth into the characters or build up into who they were. The anther couldn’t even separate the characters into their own individual personalities. This reads like some 16 year olds class project. I tried so hard to give it a chance but halfway through I had to stop. Do not believe the good reviews for this book and do yourself a favor and spend your money on an actual well written book and plot.

Mmm I’ve never had this happen to me but it’s missing chapter one lol. 😂

[[VIDEOID:71153c15a0e4108bc7e32643fe61f440]] I was really excited to start the series but sadly it was missing chapter one! Lol I’ve never had this happen to me. And I’m surprised this actually is stocked in Amazon storage.

Good writing style

Ok so overall not a bad book. I enjoyed the writing style and the author is a great linguist.
My only issue was the story telling. Though you got the point across, the interactions seemed to be very fluid realistic conversations; the hiccup for me was it felt rushed or not thought out enough when transitioning scenes.
Would I recommend? Yes the writing style is engaging.
Will I buy the next book in the series? I have it on my TBR….

Definitely recommend!

“I never claimed to be Prince Charming, and my love isn’t a fairy-tale type of love. I’m a messed-up person with messed-up morals. I won’t write you poems or serenade you beneath the moonlight. But you are the only woman I have eyes for. Your enemies are my enemies, your friends are my friends, and if you wanted, I would burn down the world for you.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I couldn’t put this book down! Alex is the perfect bad boy with a questionable moral compass. Ava is sunshine and rainbows, his complete opposite. The fun times between them are hot! Definitely recommend! As always: CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!

It's been three weeks and I am still mad at Alex

I don't normally grab books that float about #booktok, but it fell across my fyp as a "dark romance"

Let's start out with my favorite part of this story: there is tremendous character development skills here 👏 you cannot grow as a person until you find your flaws and correct them.

Not Alex though.

Alex starts out as a tool and ends as a tool. He just hates himself for being the tool he started out as so he switched it up.

Think of a screw driver switching to a wrench. Both are still tools.

Don't leave me for six months then stalk me for a year. I am not the one.

This started off promising and for some, the lack of details might be okay. I wanted to know more about Alex and his income though. I know it's explained, but I feel like he spent so much time with Sunshine over here, there was just no way he was bringing in that much money.

The plot twist was crazy predictable and even though the segs was there, I just felt like it wasn't enough.

I did like that Alex communicates with her, though. When writers bring in rough segs they skip that part and that is the basics for every healthy relationship.

Overall, I feel like it was just bleh and it's mainly because I am still extremely angry with Alex.

I've never hated a main character this much, guys 🤣

He dead ass pulled an Edward Cullen 💀

I READ TO FALL IN LOVE WITH MEN, DAMMIT

Good book & spicy 🌶️

I loved this book, but the others in the series are better in my opinion. This book can be read as a standalone as can the rest of the series can, but reading them all in order makes them each better. I 100% recommend the series. The spice is good in the book and gets better throughout the rest of the series. Overall, good book and recommend reading before you read the rest of the series.

Boring

I wasn’t sure how to sum up this book most; boring? Predictable? Mediocre? It was all three. I’m usually not one to leave bad book reviews, or even leave reviews at all. However, this book was just very mid. I like the grumpy/sunshine trope so naturally I picked up this book after seeing it everywhere, but to my disappointment, it lacked what I was looking for.
The leading lady (Ava) was cute and had her little quirks about her. She had a passion for photography, she likes baking, and she wants to travel the world. She was basic, but not a bad character.
Now, the leading male in this book (Alex) pissed me off so much. He’s very one-dimensional and lacked any personality besides basically being Batman (minus the cool costume, weapons, and vigilantism). He’s a wealthy playboy, whose parents (and sister) were killed In front of him so now he’s emo.
Overall the plot felt like it had random ideas thrown on it last minute to try and make a plot twist. There were a few side characters that could have been antagonists, (like Ava’s ex/stalker, and Alex’s jealous ex-lover). But after creating a chapter or two of conflict, those characters were written off because somehow Alex’s money and connections magically solve all his (and Ava’s) problems.
The book was a quick read. But it didn’t keep me engaged in the story. I also found a typo in it lol.
Honestly, I will probably pick up the second book at some point because I know it’s supposed to be about Bridget and Rhys’ love story, and they were my favorite characters in this book by far.

Poorly written, twisted book

This should be earmarked as soft porn chick lit. It's a very uninspired version of "horny but innocent woman meets Nordic God of the Phallus."
