Could Be Better

I loved the first two novels of the Forest Grove series, but I think this one could have been better. In the first two books, the chapters alternate between the main character, the perpetrator, and the neighborhood chat, which I really like. This book didn’t do that as much. The other two books were suspenseful; whereas, this book took an unusual turn halfway through, which I didn’t like. This book also had too many characters to keep track of. And there was a significant error on page 232, in which a piece of evidence ended up in two places at once. The author’s editor is responsible for that. I’m looking forward to the fourth novel in the series, and hoping it’ll be more consistent with the first two books.
