Adorable!

Similar to Karen Katz' 'Where is Baby's Belly Button', 'Toes, Ears & Nose' is a delightful book that allows little ones to 'find' noses, toes and tummies, this time by lifting flaps in a 'peek-a-boo' kind of way. My 14 month old enjoys this book, especially now since we are mastering where noses and toes are on ourselves. Very sweet indeed.

Not my favorite from the Karen Katz Collection

I bought this book for my son’s first birthday. He absolutely loves lift-a-flap books. This one is pretty standard quality; same as other Karen Katz books if you already have one. My son will often force the page closed with the flap not completely down. So they do get worn in and bent after a while. There are lift-a-flap books on the market that have board book material flaps. This is not one of them.

The biggest problem I had with this book is the content. It teaches the following body parts: fingers, toes, ears, nose, elbows, knee, back, belly button, teeth, tongue, and eyes. The author doesn’t make it very practical though. Example: “inside my mouth I’ve got... teeth.” As well as, “my coat protects my... back.” These are not sentences I would’ve used to hint at these body parts. I think “I chew my food with my.... teeth” would’ve been better for the child to learn this part of the body.

This book is written by Marion Dane Bauer which could explain why this differs from the other Karen Katz books.

My advice: I would probably skip this one. There are definitely better books that teach basic anatomy for babies/toddlers.

Too many flaps

I have “where’s baby’s belly button “ and my daughter absolutely loves it so we purchased this book. There’s a lot going on in this one. It’s double sided so she loses focus on the flaps to pull up. Day 1 she ripped the flaps off the ears (which wasn’t hard to do because the flaps are quarter size and poorly put on there) I want to buy books from this author but this one was no good

Toes, Ears, & Nose - A RIP the Flap Book!

I bought Karen Katz's 'Where is Baby's Belly Button' book which we loved as a family. So, I was deeply disappointed when I bought a couple months later, Toes, Ears, & Nose. This book is also a lift the flap book but the flaps rip SO easily. My son who has not yet ripped Where is Baby's Belly Button, ripped this one within the first day of getting it. The problem is, alot of the flaps are too small! The mittens, earmuffs, hands and sunglass flaps are so small that they tear much more easily than the bigger flaps of the other book. Dont waste your money!

toes, ears, &... sternum?

This is comprehensive and exhaustively researched reference guide. After reading this intructive text you will learn the location of your toes, ears, nose, mouth, eyes, etc. My only qualm is that this otherwise learned tome fails to edify its readership on the location of the liver, the epiglottis and - most importantly - the cerebral cortex. I anxiously anticipate the second edition.

Quality Time for Toddlers and Parents

All of Karen's books are beautifully illustrated with developmentally appropriate subject matter. Her books are the ones my toddler seems to love best right now. They are just the right length and allow the interaction of a young child to lift up the flaps. Every day we read at least 2 little books (one at bedtime and one after lunch. I'd like to also recommend Sue Boyton's books...one of our favorites is "MOO, BAA, LA,LA,LA" For positive discipline tips for parents with toddlers we also recommend THE POCKET PARENT.

My Daughters favorite!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this book. Karen Katz has such wonderful illusration thate appeal to young children. We have almost all of her books, but this on is my daughter's favorite. She takes it almost everywhere with her, and somethime even sleeps with it too! It has been read so many time that I had to buy another copy, but it was money well spent.

Not as good...

I have bought several Karen Katz books over the last year for our granddaughter. She enjoys Where's Baby's Bellybutton, but Toes,Ears,&Nose is not as good. Many of the flaps are very small and thin and do rip easily.Earmuffs? How many kids wear earmuffs?Under my coat is my back?True, but also a shirt under the coat. This book should have been written better than this.

BE CAREFUL!

My baby loves the pictures on this book, but be EXTRA CAREFUL! The flaps can easily be ripped off. My baby chewed the flap on this book and vomitted!
