Tipsy Bartender "I'm having a girl over"

Face it folks you are going to find yourself at some point in your life sitting opposite a bartender and spilling your guts about a tragedy in your life...Instead of doing that buy this damn book it will cheer you up. It has easy to follow recipes for creative drinks that are often based off mainstream popular cocktails. If you can make a martini or margarita you have the skills to make a gal any drink in this book.

Skyy understands what it is to be a bartender and has taken that joy and turned it into a success on youtube and now turned it into a book that has pictures! PICTURES DAMMIT! What gal isn't going to be like "ooooh make me the pink one!"?!?!

All that said it will at least give you a conversation piece when you have friends over and the ability to add to your drink portfolio. Compared to other bartender manuals and cheat books this is above and beyond. The Bar Bibles of the world are often clumsy for novice bartenders, this is the best option out there! It is sure to give you some great nights and great laughs, at home mixology is suppose to be fun, mess up and have a good laugh! That's how we all learn.

Ok, so I recieved this book today and I will go over the pros, neutrals and cons first.

PROS:

+ Awesome mixes across the board, many drinks are very unique.
+ Design and styling is easy on the eyes.
+ There are 116 mixes in this book so there is a nice variety.
+ No glaring typos or needed errata
+ If you watch the Youtube show then you end up reading everything in Skyy's voice. (Or at least I did haha)

CONS:

- Bar tools and ingredients are barely touched on.
- Not every drink has a picture to accompany it.

NEUTRALS:

* Keziah isn't pictured on the book's cover (My personal favorite TipsyBartender Girl, some other girls aren't pictured either)
* While there is a lot of drinks I will always want more, so I wish there was double the amount. Just a personal want not a knock against the book.
* A hardback option would have been neat as my postman bent my book in my PO box

I will elaborate on my pieces listed above.

The pros of this book outweigh the cons which is great! I love the drinks in this book as they carry their own zest through Sky's versions of drinks. Not seeing any bad misspellings or grammatical issues definitely shows the book was properly proofread. The selection is not bad and layout is very simple and easy to pickup and read. Now, the cons in this book are minimal, but I felt needed to be thrown out there. I wish Skyy at least put the tips he had in his videos about the ingredients used in his book. He actually has a few videos on just stocking your bar with ingredients and barware. That would have been a nice addition to this book. The neutrals are just personal mentionings that I wanted to add to this review. As far as not having all the TipsyBartender girls on the cover I can understand that. Mentioning Keziah is mainly because as I stated she is very easy on the eyes, maybe the drinks could have been held by various girls on the show. The selection is very nice in the book, but I wish there was a bit more to it on top of what was is already there. I 100% wish this book came in a hardback option, but I understand it is a pricier option. Overall, great first book Skyy and the girls! Keep it up!

I looked up this youtube person after buying the Ebook. I like the videos but the book is flawless. I have most of the ingredients unlike my other books, it has clear instructions and all the drinks I've made taste excellent. 5 solid stars

Skyy John has finally done it. He has created a book and it is awesome. If you are a fan of the show that he does on YouTube you should acquire this book for sure.

I have yet to find a book with this many stellar drinks! From fancy to simple this book has it all.

The best thing I ever gotten

I love Skyy John and the Tipsy Bartender family but this book just wasn't as great as it was hyped up to be. Overall, I would recommend it though.

For any beginning bartender, as well as fan of the show, this book is a fantastic guide to delicious drinks. As a man that doesn't like the taste of alcohol, this gives you knowledge to be a skilled pupil at the hands of Skyy John. I hope that he publishes more recipes in the future.
