Emotions that I can't explain....

If I thought Pepper was a mastermind of dark romantic suspense writing before, it is nothing compared to what I think after reading Third Debt. This book has left me a complete and utter mess, I don’t know how to feel and that has never ever happened to me before. I usually have a pretty precise “feeling” after I read a book… this book completely destroyed every rational thought I had while reading. I was up, down, sideways, backwards, you name an emotion, I felt it. Pepper Winters is a true literary genius.

I am not going to give you a cliff note version of everything that happened, instead, I am going to let you feel what I felt while reading…

Jethro and Nila’s connection is so complex and hard to understand, a sane person can’t even begin to rationalize it. They have this bond between that is unbreakable and takes a hold of you as the reader and draws every emotion you have out of you in the most exhausting but exhilarating and beautiful way. There is a love/hate relationship that is so deep, it literally floors me. The mystery and horror of the debt inheritance leaves a person completely shocked, broken, and breathless but yearning for more, just how Nila and Jethro feel for each other. The complexity of this story with all of these incredible characters had no flaws and was masterfully written to the extract extreme emotion. I was left in awe, and I cannot wait for more. If you are looking to “experience” a book like you have never experience a book before, take a ride with Pepper. Even if you are not a dark romance reader, this book is so much more.

5 exhilarating stars

HOLY CLIFFHANGER ALERT!!

Third Debt starts off from the cliffhanger - Nila has left Hawksridge and Jethro behind. Her family, with the aid of social media and some reluctant policemen, have successfully gotten her home. But Nila is a shell of her former self, she is desperate to go home to Jethro her Stockholm Syndrome fully taking over. Yes, Jethro is more than he seems and his feelings for Nila are close to the surface. But it's like she has forgotten all about his psychopathic father, brother, and grandmother who still live at Hawksridge, I wouldn't be in a rush to return to them!!

The book started off slowly with essentially two parts - in the real world and then her return. We get a lot of character development for Jethro and an answer to his condition. I won't lie, I was a little skeptical and had to research it, but it actually is a thing. I took one star away for some overly angsty discussions that felt a little too much like filler than progressing the story forward. Be prepared and have the next book ready because HOLY CLIFFHANGER ALERT!!!

What a GREAT series

4.5 stars. I have to say in a lot of books by the time i am finished reading book 4, I'm getting bored of the series. So far I finished book 4 and I do NOT want to take a break, I want to keep reading and I want to know more. To me that is a excellent story. It captured me in books 1 and now i'm ready to read book 5 still captivated. I like Jethro and Nila. Kestrel is cool. What a GREAT series so far.

I have never been more afraid to start a book

Well, I have never been more afraid to start a book then I was to start this one. I waited a long while to pick this series back up even though I have the entire series sitting on my Kindle. Finally, I started to like Jethro, I just wish he had told Nila everything about his deal with Cut. Maybe she would have backed off a little. I am glad we find out about Jethro's "affliction". They I get to the last two chapters, and I know something evil is going to happen because that is Pepper's style - afraid again. But now that I finished, I can't wait to start the Fourth Debt because I have to see what happened!

Heart Twisting

These Indebted books are so crazy. Messed up. Dark. Twisted. Good. I want to stop reading but cannot. I'm glad the next one isn't out for awhile just to have a break. I read the first three and this one over a weekend. I need to read a Pepper Winters book that ISN'T all dark and twisted as I love her detailed writing style.

A page turner....

“Third Debt” continues where Second Debt left off where we find Nila being rescued. She is finally brought home. This should have been a relief for her but just as soon as she leaves the Hawkseodge gates she realizes that this is a huge mistake. London even with her twin in it isn’t her home anymore rather it is where Jethro is. She begs for him to come get her. Tells him that this is all a misunderstanding, that she belongs with him but all of her pleas fall on deaf ears.

He was in love but after Nila departure he became a changed man. This is all Cut’s doing. As part of his punishment he gives Jethro a choice and he accepts it willingly to protect the people he cares for. He becomes an empty shell.

Since the love Nila has for Jethro is infinite she isn’t willing to give up. She tries desperately to get through to him but it’s no use. Cut’s manipulation is just too much to overcome in his state of mind. Nila isn’t alone in this quest but it just might be too late because Cut has declared that it is time to collect another debt.

Just when I thought the rest of the debts can not get any worst the third is just as horrendous as the second. At this point I’m wondering how much was Nila willing to endure?

“….don’t tell me you wish you’d never met me, Jethro Hawk, because I would live a thousands debts just for the gift of having you love me.”

I am going to be honest and say since the last book I have been feeling frustrated with this series. It has become too long and drawn out for me. Because of this I’ve come to hate it but when we witness the extent of what they are willing to go through because of this insurmountable love you I can’t help but fall deeply back into this series all over again.

The writing is as always phenomenal which is another reason why I keep coming back for more. The drama, suspense and most especially the romance is well-balanced and remains dark, intense and interesting. The depth of the story is magnificent. Like the rest of the Indebted Books, “Third Debt” is definitely a page turner.
