"Strange" novel

In reading the first chapters I thought it was a book about neighbors, maybe an affair, a falling out of friends just run of the mill things that happen in daily life. As the book went on it became bizarre. Reading the book left me feeling very uncomfortable. I skipped quickly thru the trip to Dorset. But, I had to finish it to see how it ended. I couldn't put it down. The characters were well developed, poor Hester was a mentally sick person. Very sad & lonely. Melissa, trying to run away from past, she paid her dues for it, she just should have been honest with her husband. I gave this 4 stars, I initially thought 3, but it was very well written & I couldn't stop reading. But, who is responsible for Jamie's death?

Four Stars

Suspenseful, but I don't remember the ending.

Look elsewhere for thrills and chills

Not much of a thrill here. A tedious story, populated with poorly developed unlikable characters. I found it difficult to care what happened to anyone, with perhaps the exception of a little dog.

Go for it

This was quite different from other stories, even bordered on 'weird'. Twists and turns, and colorful characters.
