Cards cut poorly, inconsistent production quality.
Like others who have pre ordered this deck, the one I received was cut very poorly, with many of the animal cards shifted to the far right or left, leaving a huge white strip to one side, instead of an even border. My crow card even had a small sliver of paper peel off it. :(
I really love the artwork and concepts, but I am now waiting on a replacement, which will hopefully have the quality of production that other reviews have raved about. I had to subtract a star for the glaring issues with the cards themselves. I was really looking forward to this deck, so this was a pretty big disappointment. How does that kind of error get past quality control?
**UPDATE**
My replacement deck arrived, and the cards are cut better than the last, but there are still a handful of cards that are noticeably off-center.
I'd probably be quite upset if I had paid MSRP of $40 for this, because incorrectly cut cards at that price point is really disappointing. Thankfully Amazon was less expensive and allowed for this exchange in the first place.
I am still bummed that my replacement isn't as well made as what others seem to have. Conflicted as to whether I should try one last time and hope I don't get a dud. I'd rate this 3.5 if I could, but I'm going to revise my score to 3 because the inconsistencies aren't very excusable in my opinion. Especially for such a popular Tarot figure.

Beautiful deck, but my deck is annoyingly stacked. The card quality is bad.
I love this deck.
I ordered The Wild Unknown Tarot last October, and I was thrilled to find out that Kim was creating an Oracle deck to go along with it. I placed my order for this deck in early March, and received it on the first of April. It’s everything that I was expecting it to be. It’s so beautiful.
Everyone is talking about uneven cutting. I don’t have that issue. What my issue IS, is that the cards don’t seem to sit properly on top of one another. Whereas my Wild Unknown Tarot cards do. I will attach a photo to show what I mean.
One photo is of my tarot deck, which sits flat even when I’m not pressing the deck together. The other is my Animal Spirit deck, which doesn’t sit flat unless I squeeze the deck together.
I’ve tried to deal with it, but it annoys me, so I scheduled a replacement to be sent to me.

Love the deck but the cardstock is cheap & guidebook gets weird
I ordered this in August 2018 and the first thing worth mentioning that the printing issues seen in the preorders and mentioned by other reviewers have all been dealt with- my deck stacks properly, every card is centered, and has been cut properly.
I really do love this deck. I've never clicked with an oracle deck like this right off the bat before, and I rarely use any of my other oracle decks anymore. It's gorgeously illustrated, every guidebook entry is incredibly detailed, it was clearly a labor of love, and gives you a ton of suggested spreads to use with this deck (or any others you might have).
The deck is divided into 5 different elements of animals- Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. For the four classical elements there's a few key terms, a description of the animal, what the animal in balance represents, what the animal out of balance feels like, and a suggested activity to get you more in touch with the part of you represented by the card.
That said the cardstock feels awfully flimsy. It's pretty thin and feels closer to index cards than anything, so I'm kind of afraid to shuffle too hard.
And the guidebook. Ooh boy. The biggest thing is that some of the out of balance items for the four classical elements are really strange. The gazelle card lists FOOD ALLERGIES (I even included a picture because I was so exasperated) as something in the out of balance energy category. That's a medical condition. No amount of yoga or eating 'good food' can fix a medical condition. Don't spread misinformation like that.
I mentioned how only the four classical elements have the detailed descriptions. The Spirit element animals don't have any of that beyond the key words and a vague, kind of rambling expositional entry. Instead they have chakra associations and detailed descriptions of chakras. If you're concerned about cultural appropriation this may be a dealbreaker, but even if it isn't a dealbreaker for you it feels tacked on, like it's just a space filler or something. It wasn't necessary at all and it's a real letdown after the super detailed entries of the other four elements.
In short I don't regret buying this, but you're better off ignoring the guidebook and forming your own associations for each card.

Words cant truly express my delight
I recently fell in love with the Wild Unknown Tarot by Kim Krans, so I was so excited when I saw this one being released. I am a huge fan of archetypes and I think animal archetypes play a huge aspect in how we navigate the world. I love the art and with Kim’s words it’s like I’m hearing advice from a wise friend, and there is something about the intentional nature of these decks that I am able to tap right into the collective consciousness and the information just streams through. My sincerest of thank you’s.

I absolutely love this deck
I absolutely love this deck! Not only does the deck have the obvious Animal element to it but, it also brings the 7 Chakras into the mix. All cards also have an 'Element': Earth, Air, Fire, Water & Spirit, assigned to them, which adds another layer of meaning to the Cards.

Love it. Great buy.
Kim Krans does not disappoint. Both her decks are truly a fantastic well packaged product, the best bang for your buck in this market. I love the keepsake boxes and card stock quality. Card stock is very important to me, these cads are just the right size and have a great feel.
The author has a unique style, its not everyones cup of tea, very simple drawings, rather dark in nature, but I just love it because I love nature and there is so much authenticity in these drawings.
A fantastic product overall. I LOVE my cards. Thank you! I was waiting for these forever!

Astounding deck!
The Overall Physical Aspect of the Product
Although I was somewhat disappointed that the keepsake box was slightly bent, however, the contents were in good shape. At first glance, the cover for the keepsake box is very appealing, the holographic material around the dragon eye gives the entire thing a nice edge. Upon opening the keepsake box, the guidebook was set atop the smaller box that contains The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit deck. The construction of both boxes feels sturdy, they are built like a hardcover book would be built.
The Guidebook
It contains 207 pages, it has a table of contents where it divides how to understand the deck, using the deck, and some deeper insights. It also tells you what pages Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit Cards begin in the book, but there isn't a set table of contents for each card. It would have been helpful to have them in alphabetical order within the element section, but this isn't a huge burden. I typically look for the section and flip through the pages, usually finding it without much trouble. The book will have different spreads you can try out, ideas on how to connect with your deck, the symbols on the cards, and how the deck came about among other things. When reading about each spirit animal aside from providing a description, it also how that card affects you when in balance, when out of balance, and how to bring balance. It could suggest a range of things from meditation to starting a new project, and even writing. The guidebook is great to start to connect with your deck.
The Animal Spirit Deck
I took some time to contemplate the cards, possibly not long enough before jumping into reading, but the art in these is just beautiful. The color schemes are appealing and the balance of color and black and white brings harmony to this deck. The meaning of the cards along with the cards make perfect sense allowing you to get an accurate reading, even from the first reading. I am not an expert but the cards pulled were on point. I combined them in a reading with The Wild Unknown Tarot for a new year spread and they worked quite well together!
If you loved The Wild Unknown Tarot, you'll love this deck as well!

and I feel in love with it
The yoga studio I go to has a previous version of this deck, and I feel in love with it. The version on here is even more beautiful. I love the colors on the cards. My card borders are all cut correctly so far I have not seen any messed up ones. The holographic box and sleeve are beautiful and made me so happy because it was an unexpected surprise.
This deck is very easy to use, and the book is straightforward so it's not overly complex to do readings with.

Brutally honest
Make sure to read the guidebook. This is my first ever deck after watching countless of tarot readings. I'd been so attracted to the art style that I thought that even if I turn out to be a spiritual dud, I can enjoy the beautiful illustrations.
What I didn't expect is how brutally honest and straightforward the deck came to be. Is it the deck? Is it my guides? Either way, the imagery and the chosen animals give the message you need to hear across. I've since gotten another animal-themed oracle deck, and while I like it in a different way, it's not as straightforward as The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Deck. I'm able to read with it on its own without other decks, and the cards themselves and the thorough guidebook are able to answer my questions. The guidebook on its own is a great read, and I really enjoyed the intro from the illustrator, making me appreciate animal imagery and connections.
