Description

Praise for The Seth Books by Jane Roberts “The Seth books present an alternate map of reality with a new diagram of the psyche . . . useful to all explorers of consciousness.”xa0 — Deepak Chopra, M.D., author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success “Seth was one of my first metaphysical teachers. He remains a constant source of knowledge and inspiration in my life.”xa0 — Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love “I would like to see the Seth books as required reading for anyone on their spiritual pathway. The amazing in-depth information in the Seth books is as relevant today as it was in the early ’70s when Jane Roberts first channeled this material.”xa0 — Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life “Seth’s teachings had an important influence on my life and work, and provided one of the initial inspirations for writing Creative Visualization .”xa0 — Shakti Gawain, author of Creative Visualization “The Seth books were of great benefit to me on my spiritual journey and helped me to see another way of looking at the world.”xa0 — Gerald G. Jampolsky, author of Love Is Letting Go of Fear “As you read Seth’s words, you will gain more than just new ideas. Seth’s energy comes through every page — energy that expands your consciousness and changes your thoughts about the nature of reality.” — Sanaya Roman, author of Living with Joy “To my great surprise — and slight annoyance — I found that Seth eloquently and lucidly articulated a view of reality that I had arrived at only after great effort and an extensive Jane Roberts (May 8, 1929 – Sept 5, 1984) grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York where she attended Skidmore College. She was a prolific writer in a variety of genres including poetry, short stories, children’s literature and fiction when in 1963, she began to receive messages from a non-physical energy personality who called himself “Seth.” Her husband, Robert F. Butts, an artist and writer, recorded the messages and together they dedicated their lives to the publication of Seth’s teachings.xa0Today, the “Seth Books” are world-renowned for comprising one of the most profound bodies of work ever written on the true nature of reality. They have become classics in the fields of psychology and personal growth, and stand out as one of the major forces that led to the New Age philosophical movement in the 1970s.

  • Seth Speaks
  • In September 1984, the voice that had spoken for one of the most profound and prolific metaphysical teachers of the 20th century fell silent. Seth, the entity who described himself as an “energy personality essence no longer focused in physical matter,” had spoken exclusively through Jane Roberts since 1963. During the long illness that led to her death, Jane continued to channel Seth from her hospital bed, but this final work was left unfinished. Now, in
  • The Way Toward Health
  • , Jane’s husband, Robert Butts, shares with us the intimate story of Jane’s final days, and the exquisite teachings that Seth gave during that time. In an examination of the miracle of life in a human body, Seth speaks about:•   Why medicine and therapy often perpetuate illness•   How the practice of naming diseases can work against us•   The influence of religion in creating disease•   How children’s health is influenced by parents’ beliefs•   Humor as an effective factor in healing•   Includes 8-page photo gallery“Do not think of the mind as a purely mental entity, and of the body as a purely physical one. Instead, think of both mind and body as continuing, interweaving processes that are mental and physical at once. Your thoughts actually are quite as physical as your body is, and your body is quite as nonphysical as it seems to you your thoughts are. You are actually a vital force, existing as a part of your environment, and yet apart from your environment at the same time.”  — Jane Roberts, speaking for Seth in

True life story

This is a true life story of how Jane spent the last few months of her life. It strikes me as little depressing because she doesn't improve and finally dies of her disease state which is not mentioned specifically. In this book, Seth continues to address her health problems and ways to get better. Perhaps if she didn't do what Seth suggested, she may have been worse off but who can say? But the book is packed with information on health, disease and how attitudes and belief are inter-related. It would be useful book for people in the health field and certainly give you a different perspective than the current medical perspective of health and disease.

This is a very personal testimonial of Jane Roberts' transition

This is the most personal and touching of all the Jane Roberts/Seth books I have read. By 1984, the year Jane died, "A course in miracles" was already being widely circulated. I wonder if Jane and Robert ever heard of it. I think "A course in miracles" would have saved Jane Roberts as it seems to me that guilt played a huge role in her premature departure. As most of us, she identified mightily with her body. Forgiveness, or its lack thereof, seems also to have been a factor. Culturally ingrained values are more toxic to human beings than we have realized at this stage of our development. Thank you Jane Roberts, thank you Robert Butts, for your valuable contribution to mankind. Of course, thank you Seth.

Informative and very sad.

This book gave me answers to questions I have had for years. I always wondered why Jane Roberts was in the hospital for over a year considering the wonderful knowlege she gave the world. I discovered that your entity or higher self can do nothing more than give you advise.
The book was very sad and I must admit that I shed a few tears.

good book

The Seth books are amazing and this one is good too. However, I think it is more for the follower of Seth and Jane and Robert than the person new to Seth. It was obviously written in difficult times and is more dis-jointed than the other Seth books. None-the-less, it too conveys important information and it's focus primarily on the issue of health was a plus.

How to be Healthier!!

It's a must book IF you want to understand how your thoughts and beliefs DIRECTLY affect your body and your health.
Seth shows the connections and Jane Roberts difficulty emerging beyond basic family and religious concepts
If this is your first 'Seth Book'.
Being deeply familiar with Seth books, on receiving this the first read was ONLY Seth's words... NOT what was happening to Jane nor the transcriber Butts comments. Then, it was read it again WITH all material in sequence.
This is a NEW Seth book, first printed in 1997 (Jane died in 1984) and it took that long to get this into print.
Amazing process. Enjoy!

Seth is always good, but ....

This book covers the last year or so of Jane's life and I became so sad reading about her suffering, that I haven't been able to finish it yet. I will. All of Seth's writings are well worth it.
