Features & Highlights

  • Have you ever contemplated the cause of the universe beyond simply attributing it to God or The Big Bang? If so, have you ever entertained the idea that the universe is but a dream? Which is to say, have you ever considered that the cause of the universe is that you dreamt it up? At first glance, the idea that you dreamt up the universe perhaps seems implausible. However, what if you really took that idea seriously and followed it to its logical conclusion? What would you discover? Well, this book answers that question. Using the unique form of a graphic novel, artist and writer Alexander Marchand takes you on an artistic, humorous, irreverent, and extremely informative romp through the advanced, nondualistic metaphysics of the contemporary spiritual document known as A Course in Miracles. In the end, you’ll not only have a coherent picture of the true nature of the universe and existence, but you’ll also have essential, practical knowledge of what you’ll need to do to if you are ready to wake up. However, be forewarned that if you expect this book to prove to you that the universe is a dream, you’ll be disappointed. The only way to prove a dream is a dream is to wake up. Therefore, although the book provides the hypothesis and the parameters of the experiment to prove that the universe is a dream, you’ll have to be willing to do the experiment yourself. Consequently, if you refuse to do the experiment, you’ll probably hate the book and all irony of your hate for the book will be lost to you. But if you embrace the book’s logically consistent message of peace and are thus willing to do the experiment--which you’ll find is an experiment of uncompromising forgiveness--you’ll love it.

Fun Fresh and Brilliantly done

Just read this book on a cozy Sunday afternoon. I have been studying the course for years. It is so great to have a book that is so entertaining and enlightening at the same time. I felt the author was very clear on the metaphysics of the course in a very fresh new way. I loved all the little fun posts along the way. I would highly recommend this book for the beginner to the scholar of the course. Thank you so much. I actually will be putting this on the library shelf of our community here at LMM. Lots of Love and Bounds of Miracles to you!

The Universe is a Dream

Absolutely brilliant! Bravo, Alexander! Your clarity in describing the thought system of A Course in Miracles will be helpful to both beginning and advanced students. Your use of cartoons to illustrate ACIM and physics principles makes the difficult concepts easy to understand. You are able to take the reader step-by-step along a complex path, with each section building upon the previous one. I have long recommended The Disappearance of the Universe to my ACIM study group members, and will be recommending The Universe is a Dream as well. Thank you for being a shining channel for Truth.

so good

The best summary of a course in miracles I have read. The Disappearance of the Universe was good but really has been shown to be deceptive. At least this is what it is. A Graphic Novel of awesomeness!

ACIM 'Cliff Notes' in comic book form; totally fun AND profound

Alexander Marchand's thoroughly enjoyable book is like ACIM 'Cliff Notes' in comic book form. It's loaded with superb visual humor and metaphors, and remarkable depth and insight disguised as a VERY fun read. For those that want in-depth non-dual metaphysics in a graphically engaging format (including some very cool glyphs for concepts we can all relate to), this one is a total page-turner. I couldn't put it down. Try it, you'll like it! You might even find you are less interested in polishing a less-than-satisfactory substitute for what we all really want. (You'll just have to read the book to figure what that hilarious reference was about. :-)

The Universe is a Dream

This book complements Gary Renards - Disappearance of the Universe. It is a easy read and I like the illustrations provided. I gave the first one I ordered to a lady I met that was interested in the Course in Miracles. So, I decided to order a 2nd one and I never been disappointed. I do believe this world was not created by a LOVING Father, who would come up with such an unhappy place like this? I prefer to see it as an opportunity to wake up along with my brothers and see the real world. No drama!

Excellent!

This book is amazing! It explains the most important concepts about A Course on Miracles and forgivness. And you have a fun while doing it! I was impressed by the knowledge of the writer not only on the Course but Methaphysical and Quantum physics concepts. Some concepts could not have been explained better by a Physicist. I highly recommend it. Also while reading it, my 9 year old son was very attracted by the illustrations and kept asking questions, we had a good chat!

The Big Picture of Reality ... in Graphic Novel Form

Finding answers to big questions about the nature of reality in a graphic novel may seem unlikely ... until you read "The Universe is a Dream." Author Alexander Marchand describes nondualism in ways that are simultaneously fun and easy to comprehend, while treating the subject with appropriate respect.

"The Universe is a Dream" is a refreshing primer on a topic that is seldom discussed--let alone taught in western schools--despite the fact that when considered as a philosophical premise, nondualism has much to offer people seeking an end to suffering. The key to ending suffering, as Marchand points out, is to identify oneself with the Oneness, rather than with one's ego. In a nutshell, this is what "The Universe is a Dream" is all about.

Because many of the ideas presented in "The Universe is a Dream" challenge most westerner's beliefs, this book suggests continuing with lifelong study of the concepts of nonduality as presented in "A Course in Miracles" in order to help people gradually improve their sense of who they really are in relationship to the universe. Those who have already intuited and recognized the nature of nondualism and are walking through the world in nondual reality will likely find this book refreshingly entertaining and validating.

"The Universe is a Dream" is a marvelous tool for delving into metaphysical topics in ways that produce numerous "Aha!" moments, and surely that was the reason it was created as a graphic novel in the first place. Thanks to the combination of visual images and words, all parts of a reader's mind are engaged while contemplating every page -- and the simplistic cartoon images provide reference points by which readers can later recall the ideas and examples presented in the book.

"The Universe is a Dream" is the perfect book for anyone suspecting they might be ready to wake up from the limited viewpoint of ego perspective into the wide, wonderful world of Oneness consciousness. Highly recommended!

An easier way to look at "A Course in Miracles."

Alex has taken the context of "A Course in Miracles" and presented it in a wonderful style. Easy to follow, humorous, very well written. Anyone who has been raised or influenced by Christianity would do well to read this book, to gain a better understanding of what the teachings of Jesus were really pointing to; what "true religious" thought really looks like. This book is a "fun" read and I recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the Spiritual side of life more deeply..

Inspired, I have no doubt

I really enjoyed this presentation of how to better understand "A Course in Miracles."
However, I found the format somewhat difficult to read on my kindle.
Hopefully, when I am able to purchase the new kindle paper white it may be kinder to the eyes.
