The Thunderbird Queen by Jordan Rivet

In book two in the Fire Queen's Apprentice by Jordan Rivet, we return to the shores of Sharoth, where Selivia and Tamri are met with both new and old foes, as they continue to fight for survival! The Thunderbird Queen is filled with mystery, suspense, and so much excitement! Get ready for epic battles, new discoveries, and two strong, but very different heroines! This young adult fantasy absolutely had me reading on the edge of my seat, and hanging onto every word! There's absolutely something for every reader to love in this intriguing series!

I absolutely love that the continuation of The Fire Queen's Apprentice not only includes the characters we know and love, but it features a complete dichotomy in Tamri and Selivia's characters. They're both strong and intelligent young women, yet very different. I so enjoyed the character growth and development in each, and wholeheartedly cheered for them both.

Author Jordan Rivet does an exceptional job of world building, and drawing the reader in. She writes
thrilling and captivating books, and five star read after five star read. If you're a lover of young adult reads, filled with excitement, magic, dragons, and perseverance against insurmountable odds, The Fire Queen's Apprentice series is absolutely for you!

Return to the shores of Sharoth with Selivia and Tamri, as they continue the battle of an age old tale of good vs. evil. Follow along as they fight hard to save the world as they know it.

Atmospheric and amazing

There are a few fantasy worlds I love returning to again and again and top of the list is Rivet's world of water, air and fire.

And now we have the electrifying stuff.

The Thunderbird Queen was an atmospheric, city-hopping ride that started strong and didn't stop till the epilogue. There were humorous and heart-touching moments, tough choices but mostly intensity - the kind the characters could feel in the air and as the reader I could feel down into my bones - seriously, thunderstorms have me jumpy now.

The relationships Rivet established in the first book continued to blossom and take forms of their own in this story (should Tamri be worried though …? Gramma is such an expert flirt with Heath ;)).

There was one disappointing thing about this story however … the note at the end saying the next book would be the last. *wails* I thought I was against long serials but never where Rivet and her storytelling is concerned.

*consoles self by going back over the Steel and Fire series and smirking at the things that come out of Siv's mouth*

Oh I just loved it!

This was a great continuation of the story, and picks up right where the Watermight Thief left off. There is still that exciting action, adventure, and mystery along with excellent character development. We see our heroine Tamari as she has to make difficult choices and do what she believes is right. We see familiar faces once again, which always is welcome and is great to see the different contrasts and comparisons between characters. This is definitely a colorful story, and one that I definitely would recommend to others!

Truly an amazing story!

The Thunderbird Queen, Jordan Rivet's 2nd book in her Fire Queen's Apprentice series, is everything the first book was and so much more! Book two has two heroines, each showing their strength in their own way. This time the fate of Sharoth is on the line. Between attacks by the lightning and the thunderbirds, and now outside forces, they are truly in peril. Can the troops rally in time and with enough force, or will all be lost? If victorious, at what cost? The storyline is fast-paced filled with danger, intrigue, magic and romance. The characters are well-developed and entertaining. I can't wait to read book 3 to see how this story ends!
