Description

"I loved this story. You have a bad guy turning good. A bad guy who will do anything to get the woman. Action. Lies. And secrets." --Whispers From The Mountains, GoodReads Review, ★★★★★ "I've been looking forward to Remy's story and oh my gosh it lived up to my every expectation." --Read All About It, BookBub Review, ★★★★★ "Everyone of the Wilde Ways books gets better than the last. I am so in love with Remy and Jacqueline!" --Nancy Ku, BookBub Review, ★★★★★ "They are actually perfect for each other and I had some happy tears in their happy ever after." --Christine Jalili, GoodReads Review, ★★★★★ "Another fast paced fun read from this very talented author whose all alpha male hero's are usually a little tarnished around the edges." --Deb From Oz, BookBub Review, ★★★★★

Features & Highlights

  • It’s hard to be good. And rather exhausting…
  • After a lifetime of sin, Rembrandt “Remy” Stuart is finally on the road to redemption, but a former bad guy must always watch out for temptation.
  • His
  • temptation? It comes in the unexpected but ever-so-seductive package that is Jacqueline Peters. One look, and he’s hooked.
  • From the moment he sees her, Remy is inspired.
  • He’s never been one to rush to the rescue—not really his thing—but when a shoeless Jacqueline enters the crowded bar, Remy can practically feel her fear. The beautiful woman is running from something—more like someone—so Remy decides to be her knight in severely tarnished armor. For a price, of course. Because nothing is ever free. Certainly not
  • him.
  • His price? Jacqueline will be his muse.
  • He’ll give her a job and a safe place to stay, but, in return, she has to pose for him. She’ll be his model as Remy finally tries to create work of his own and not, ahem, just incredible forgeries that can be used by all sorts of dangerous criminals—the people that Remy knows too well. And if Remy and Jacqueline happen to give in to the burning hot attraction between them, attraction that grows even hotter with every moment that passes, then who is he to argue with fate?
  • She needed a hero. She got the bad guy.
  • Jacqueline is sweet and good, careful and controlled, and she may just be everything he ever wanted. And she mistakenly thinks he’s some kind of hero. Adorable but…so not the case. When danger from her past follows her to Remy’s, he’ll have to show her who he really is. Because there is no way that he’s going to let anyone hurt his muse. Being good can only get a man so far.
  • But being
  • bad…
  • that just might save the day.
  • Author’s Note: THE THIEF WHO LOVED ME is a stand-alone romance with a guaranteed happy ending. Sometimes being good can be so very hard, and Remy was never really cut out for the “good” life. Remy is about to have his world turned upside down, but don’t worry, some of his “Wilde” friends will be there to help him out.

Remy is one of the best flawed bad-boy characters I've ever read

One of the best characters I've read by Cynthia Eden.

I don't write about the plot or regurgitate the back matter of a book. I rate characters, interactions, conversation, real to life plot, s@x scenes, and yes plot if there is a glaring problem for me. Hopefully people will find this more informative than most of the reviews.

First: This book blew me away and for one main reason. The hero. Remy is a tough m-f-er who thinks he is nothing but bad news (someone who is a magnet for danger/death) so he sacrifices himself to try to keep those he loves safe. Thankfully he has had Con on his side. But in this book we see Remy doing the same thing to Con (and then the heroine Jacqueline) just like he did with his sister in his introduction book (Ex marks the perfect spot). I love how he takes care of those that he loves even while trying to make them not see what he is doing. I love that he's a bad ass (and not all a good guy) in how he handles situations. Lying is his thing but even as he plans to lie to Jacqueline, he finds that he can't and it stupefies him.

Jacqueline is a great character too. Under other circumstances I might rant on about how I like her, how she's a good girl down under but will become bad in a heartbeat if it will help her Remy. But in this situation, my love of the interesting character of Remy, she is definitely second fiddle.

Conversations feel real, S@x scenes super hot but don't drag on or become same old same old repeated. The heat between R and J explodes from the page well before they do the deed. I swoon over statements that inadvertently leave Remy's mouth and his reactions to things that Jac says to him. Friendships between Remy and Con and Ty are amazing and really show who Remy is without him telling/showing us.

Nothing I dislike about the book. Cynthia Eden outdoes herself with this one. Can't wait for Cons book

Even bad guys need love!!

Even bad guys need love!!

Remy is just sitting in a bar minding his own business when a woman comes in asking for help. He’s always thought of himself as a thief and a bad man but deep down he is a hero. He is street smart and protective to the core.

He’d intend to lie, to manipulate, then he’d look into her eyes and randomly do the most stupid of shi!, like tell the truth.

Jacqueline is running from a evil man so she knows the deference. Remy makes her feel safe. She’s so trusting and honest. She brings out feelings in him that he is shocked at.

“A fugitive,” he explained easily. “Aren’t they all wanted? Doesn’t that go along with being a fugitive?”

I’m be been looking forward to Remy’s story and oh my gosh it lived up to my every expectation.

“You asked for backup,” Constantine reminded him. “You called Eric and told him to send in his best agent.”

Constantine lifted his hands and gestured toward himself. “Well, wish granted. Here I am.”

I’m so excited about the next book because swoon!!!
Constantine!!!
