Glad I Bought It
I'm glad I got this book. Lots of info for the price and a different slant than a lot of "exercise" books. The first two chapters explain why Brady discarded traditional training methods, e.g. lots of weightlifting, for his new methods. The "why" helps. Then he explains pliability, there are 120 pages of exercises, then stuff on hydration, diet and getting proper rest. Some of it is basic, e.g. avoid salt, but some of it is rather unique in my experience, e.g. avocado ice cream. And some I found surprising, like seeing salmon on the list of acidifying foods.
Whether or not you buy into Brady's ideas, if you are interested in personal health, from an exercise or nutrition standpoint or both, I think this book is worth a read. I figure for the $24, or whatever it was, there are more than enough interesting ideas to make me glad I bought it.

SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR ALL COACHES AT EVERY LEVEL
This book is a summary of Brady's healthy life style and exercise routine. As a nurse practitioner trained as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, I found his beliefs to be pretty well grounded in science and commonly accepted practices and enjoyed the content. It is comprehensive and well-thought out. It's his way of telling his story and then thoroughly covering all aspects of life that lead to achieving a lifetime of sustained peak performance that makes it unique. If we all did what he suggests, we'd all be fit, healthy, and happier. If coaches followed these guidelines, we'd have less injuries nation wide. It should be required reading of all high school athletes and especially the coaches who still don't get it. It's totally worth the money because the concepts apply to all people, not just those who exercise or are athletes. His main point of adding pliability (lengthening and softening muscles) to your strength and conditioning routine is not a new concept but it is rather new to see a professional athlete embrace it so thoroughly. It really is one of the main secrets to his athletic longevity and all of us should add pliability exercises to our routines as well as follow his 12 principles. To discredit an earlier review - Brady does NOT say you have to go to one of his centers to achieve pliability. He discusses self pliability exercises, partner pliability exercises, and then professional therapists at his centers (which would probably be for the amateur and professional athletes or those who are really into this). There is a bit of a sales pitch tone to it though with some annoying repetitious phrases - but maybe the athletes need it drilled into them. It seems it was written so that you'd get the same couple messages with each page. He could have said the same stuff in less pages. I highly recommend starting this book with the conclusion on page 284 for a summary of what's to come. Move on to the middle and if you haven't had enough, then hit the verbose beginning chapters. There are a ton of good pictures to help with understanding the exercises and if you are a Brady fan you'll like his personal touch. I'm glad I got it and highly recommend it. If I had a kid in sports, I'd buy it for them no matter how young and read it with them. I'm ordering my husband his own book and I'm recommending it to all my friends. It's really that good.

My son loves it
Have a kid who plays sports who you want to eat a healthier diet?? Buy this book! My 8 year old son is loving this book and it has opened up lots of discussions about health, healthy eating, and hard work. Be annoyed by Tom Brady’s “perfection” all you want, but in a world that’s becoming more and more difficult to find good influences for your children this book lays a decent foundation.

if you are like me, avoid paying $20 for a program you ...
I shop on Amazon often but have never felt compelled to write a review until now. I bought this book after seeing an interview with Brady. During the interview he touted this workout/stretching program as the secret of his longevity and ability to stay injury and pain free. I was excited as someone who has a chronic injury and am looking for something as I get older to help with the pain and allow me to remain active.
I read the first 90 pages with excitement. I understood the concepts and Brady had total buy-in from me. I wanted to start his program ASAP....then I got to the page that said I needed to use a TB12 Trainer to get the full benefits. Brady then said this a few more times as I read further. He also said you would need the trainer to work on you both before and after workouts. So, not only did I not have a TB12 trainer but even if there was one in my smaller town, I would have to pay them to work my muscles out both before and after workouts. I stopped reading which much frustration.
I bought this book to implement the TB12 program and Brady made it clear that doing so is impossible without a TB12 trainer. So, if you are like me, avoid paying $20 for a program you can't implement!!

Save yourself the $, nothing new here, move along.
I rarely if ever buy a popular 'fad' book and this is why. It's a marketing ploy for TB12 and extra cash for Brady, like he needs it. I caved and got it because he does walk the walk and he clearly is all in and it obviously pays off for him, but there is so little deep dive information in the book. Doesn't seem like they spent a lot of time on it. "EAT AS MUCH REAL, ORGANIC, AND LOCAL FOOD AS YOU CAN." Really? No new news. There are no references to any other sources. I'll save you some money and summarize: practice good hydration daily, eat a mostly plant -based diet (Michael Pollan has been saying that for years), and workout mostly with elastic bands and loops, rollers and balls. You can buy the exercise products and supplements, in many cases identical because TB12 re-branded existing products, for less $ on Amazon.

Worth the money
Interesting book. A bit repetitious at times but the knowledge is valuable. I bought a Physix gear sports stick $11 on Amazon to massage my muscles and it works well to put Tom's plan into action. Also began using bands to work our with at the gym. Was very suprised to see how fast my muscles reponded and became more "pliable".

If Gronk writes a book... I am waiting for paperback. This book is ENORMOUS!
Dear Tom Brady -
I recently ordered your new book and was wondering if - perhaps - you might be spending too much time around super-sized football players? The reason I think this may be an issue is because - quite frankly - your book is ENORMOUS!
I first noticed this issue when I struggled to pull it out of the amazon box since it weighed close to what my first born child did. I then realized that it was considerable larger than any of my children's text books and was over double the size of a typical paperback book.
It is quite literally close to the size of my microwave when opened. At first, I thought it was a mistake and maybe I ordered the senior citizen over-sized font version when I first saw the back cover, but when I opened it I realized that I did in fact have the regular version.
I tried to snuggle up in bed with my new read, but found myself elbowing my husband in the face since when the book is opened, it is almost as large as my king sized pillow. Honestly I didn't quite have the arm strength to hold it that way for very long either and have only read a page or two.
Perhaps this is your way of helping us build endurance and subtly tricking us into a little strength training? Next time, it may not be necessary to publish a book cover with a life size replica of your head. All I know is that if GRONK writes a book, then I am going to wait for the paperback version. Just working on the pliability of my funny bone over here in Chesapeake, Virginia.
PS. Thanks for standing, but letting the president know that his comments were off base. I appreciated this personally as I live in a military town and my neighbors are both active duty and military veterans. On my one street alone I have friends that are Raven, Seahawk, Falcon, Cowboy, Raider, Redskin & Saints Fans. We co-exist peaceful as do the inter-racial members of the military and the NFL. Hope the rest of the country can find their way to equality too.

Overall, not worth it, although some good info.
Tom Brady begins this book buy a recap of his career to this point. I was inspired by his story. There are some interesting ideas about diet, and some sample workouts using stretch bands. But the heart of the book is dedicated to an infomercial about the tb12 method. The book emphasizes over and over how you need to hire a tb12 body coach. And of course, they have lots of supplements that they are ready to sell you. The whole concept of pliability as it's laid out here, with a massage like technique being applied by the body coach oh, it's just not realistic. Maybe for Brady, who has four hours a day to devote to training, but for the average person I just don't see the value in it even if it does work it seems like a long way to go to get good results. I was disappointed over all. But I still like Tom Brady.
