Not worth my time.

I started reading this book today and about 50 pages in I decided I couldn't care less about what happened. It's just not interesting enough to waste time on.

Instantly sold!

Give me a book about neighborhood/cul-de-sac drama and scandal and I am sold. The Swing of Things had all of that and more!

The story centers around Jayne and Eric, your typical couple who have fallen into the same routines of a normal marriage, except it's Jayne who is the working breakwinner while Eric is the stay-at-home dad (yay!).

With their normal routines (including their usual and predictable Wednesday Date Nights), their sexual desire for one another has taken a turn for the worse.

Enter Mia and Theo, the "cool parents" in the neighborhood, who have the best and craziest adult parties and seem to have this perfect marriage. Eric and Jayne become intrigued by this couple and learn that the secret sauce to their spicy marriage is their "swinging" lifestyle. Eric and Jayne befriend Mia and Theo and take part in their "swingers group." Little do Jayne and Eric know that swapping wives comes with a price, wrecking havoc on their lives.

enjoyable, interesting, and engaging throughout

I wouldn’t lie and say I had no interest in the prurient aspects involved in such a situation, but I think the most impressive thing to this book is the way it gets beyond that. The characters and their emotional lives was the real pull, and the real subject. The fact that still came through with as easily as the other stuff could distract evidences some fine writing. Regardless, enjoyable, interesting, and engaging throughout.
