Who doesn't like reading about castles?!

Susan Wise Bauer does it again! With this volume, I highly recommend using the Activity Guide. We didn't start out using it and had sort of a rough start. It just makes the information flow a little better. With each volume, I am amazed at the amount of History that I wasn't taught while I was in school! I think I may actually be enjoying learning History as much or more than my kids!

a great read

As a retired teacher and a grandmother now....how I wish this were available when my children were growing up.

Quick, concise and informative...not long, drawn out, etc. Really easy to hold ones attention and inform.

Easy and high yields

We have all four and have used them for years, and they have read them independently over and over. The series compliments Classical Conversations well. Making history a story rather than line of facts, the children have all been engrossed and don't even know they are learning. Yet, when facets of history are in conversation, they are able to relate and connect the dots.
