Awesome Tool!

We have the older version and the updated version is much more user friendly. So many large photos and expanded explanations. I’m very pleased with this book.

HOPING TO DOUBLE DIP YOUR CASH there is on digital copy included

Good information but poorly written. While it seams to have some good info. It turns the info, it turns the info it does have to crap by using made up words, and terms that just confuse the reader. Some may just be rhetorical language (trying to look ((smart)) like a big shot), but any writer worth damm would avoid talking down to readers. Not try to impress them with made up vocabulary, it should be about sharing the info they paid for. Not trying to impress them with your knowledge. Example he says to rag a blister. What ever that means. (Wrap the blister in bandage or rags as pading would be my guess) but it leaves the reader unclear as what to do. That is just one example. The book does have good color photos. And papes that like to stick to each other so much that trying to turn only one page is almost impossible. Turn 3-4 pages every time. I do think it has good info in the book but it is a batte trying to understand what is being said 🤯. Love the way it says if you are bit by a snake and have a working phone call poison control lol thank you Capt obvious for the lol. It does give you the phone number for poison control, as if 911 would not connect you, and in less time than it would take you to dig out the book and look for poison controls number in the book lol. ALL in all it does have alot of good info but be prepared to struggle to understand what the author is trying to say.

Not what I was expecting...

I was looking for the book from the 40s/50s/60s with details, this is NOT that book. This is a high color basic overview.

Well Written and Well Illustrated

This is a well written and illustrated book that would be a GREAT addition to any scout, scout leader, or any outdoorsmans library! Outdoor survival and emergency preparedness should be the first and foremost concern for anyone who enters the woods or any wilderness adventure, whether going it alone, but especially in any group led adventuring. Highly recommend!

OK at best

Far, far better then the truly awful BSA merit badge pamphlet, but repeats senseless idea that BSA can tell you in advance what your priorities are for survival in total isolation from the actual situation: boat sinking? drink water and light a fire. Really? Lists wool are good choice for outer layer - a great idea a century ago before nylon and polyester. Not sure who actually wrote it as it confuses magnesium bars with ferrocerium rods, and I would expect Wayne to know the difference.

Survival with a (KISS) keeping it simpal smart

this is not a woods craft approach to survival and living off the land
the priceable presented are strait forward no nonce approach to staying alive until rescue.
this is a good read for both the New person as well as a reminder for the experienced person going out into the woods

This is what you need to survive. Excellent purchase!

This is seriously the most helpful survival book I have read... and I have a survival gear addiction.

Helpful, informative, instructions easy to read and implement.

The book itself is well made and I love the protective metal edges. It makes putting it into a pack easy and won’t damage the book.

For people lost while hiking

This is a very good book, but since it is specifically for people who go hiking, get lost and need to survive, I didn’t get everything I was looking for. I don’t get lost or take long hikes into the wilderness, I’m worried more about SHTF with current situation world wide.
