Description

Review “YouTube personality Glynn takes this wish-fulfillment premise and spins it with all the subtlety of cotton candy... Cinderella meets Mean Girls while at Hogwarts.” — Kirkus Reviews “With a message of kindness, YouTube star Glynn’s middle grade debut, a series opener, is a story of devoted friendship and fierce loyalty that is sure to win readers over.” — Publishers Weekly “This first in a series is a quick read with hints of light romance... An engaging boarding school story.” — School Library Journal “This updated take on The Prince and the Pauper is enhanced by the lightest touch of magical realism... but ultimately this is a tale of friendship and belonging. Doors are left open for a sequel, and readers will be eager to see where they lead.” — Booklist About the Author Connie Glynn has always loved writing. She wrote her first story when she was six, with her mum at a typewriter acting as her scribe. This passion for stories has never left her, and Connie recently finished her degree in film theory. It was at university that Connie started her hugely successful YouTube channel, Noodlerella. There Connie vlogs about her passions, which include comics, cartoons, impressions, video games, cosplay, and all things cute. Connie’s channel has nearly one million subscribers and over 88 million views.

Homosexual agenda

This book appears to be a cute, innocent pre-teen story about the hidden identity of a princess at boarding school. We purchased this for our daughter and are now regretting not having read the reviews more carefully. Don’t let the cover, some good reviews, and description of “light romance” fool you. The author does a fantastic job of disguising her homosexual agenda in the beginning but begins to unleash her intentions in the second half. This should not have been labeled as a novel for ages 8-12. Hugely disappointing. We’ll be avoiding this author going forward.

Definitely not for me

This book had a lot of out of place interactions between the girls that just felt weird and forced. The parts about it being a school and the plot with one girl being a stand in for the undercover princess were okay but then there would be super uncomfortable and forced rI'm antic interactions between the girls that felt completely out of place.

10 year old loved it

My 10 year old daughter isn’t much of a reader, much to my dismay. I’ve tried lots of different books, but nothing has really caught her interest. I saw this recommended on TikTok, and it was a huge success! She spent the whole evening reading (a first for her!) and she’s already asked for the second one.
