An Amazing Book to Use to Teach Your Children

This book is just amazing! It is beautifully done - the illustrations are wonderful, the writing is excellent, and the story is done in such a way as to really touch you - heart and soul. We use this book to teach both our daughters and son about purity and its importance. This book presents this issue in a way that small children can understand and it builds a foundation that will be very easy for us to expand upon as they mature.

What a gift this book is in a culture where we are surrounded and overwhelmed by the most impure of things! We are teaching our children to disdain the cultural messages that surround them [and at this tender age, we protect them from those messages and images to the extent we possibly can]. We are teaching our children to follow God - the only thing that really matters.

The Princess and the Kiss is a precious book - a story of the real value of purity [for both girls AND boys], told in such a way that it still brings tears to my eyes every time I read it - even after dozens and dozens of readings!

This book has become our standard gift for Christmas and Birthdays for all the precious little girls and boys we know and love - and every single one that has recieved this book has *adored* it and their parents were very grateful. You can't go wrong with this one!

A wonderful Reassurance

I am a 21 year old "princess" my Mother and Father gave me this book last Christmas. It is the best book I have ever read. I am 21 and I myself have never been kissed. I had formerly thought myself a freak of nature, or something, the opportuunity had just never been made to kiss someone, but after reading this book I am so happy that my parents helped to protect my kiss. It was a wonderful reminder int his day and age how special a kiss really is. wonderful book, I have one for my future daughter, and my soon to be born neice a great book every princess should own!

A beautyful Fairytale bridge:

THE PRINCESS AND THE KISS is a wonderful fairytale story with incredible meaning, beautiful symbolism, and a heart touching storyline. I bought the book and am reading it to my three-year-old daughter (who loves to dress-up) and now she has added "the Princess" to her dress-up repertoire. Denee does not understand (of course) the deeper meanings of the book yet (thank the Lord), however, when the time comes for her mom and I to discuss Love, Sex, physical changes, and Josh McDowell work books, she will have had a wonderful bridge to these subjects through "The Princess and the Kiss."

My 7 year old daughter loved it!

My 7 year old daughter loves this book and wants to read it every night before she goes to sleep. The first time I read it to her she just glowed! It is a wonderful why to explain purity to a little girl.

Wonderful book

I agree with the review by C.Petri...Its a book about sexual purity, but I take it that they parallel it by instead using the example of a kiss so it is more on the level of the younger children. Its a must for your little girls (and boys) but I happen to have girls and my older daughter loves princess things so the way this book is written is just perfect.

Shaping young children's souls

This book is a delightful way to make an early impression on young children that their purity is a precious gift to steward and to give away once (and only once). Parents and teachers can shape children's souls in ways that will help them later refuse to be conformed to the ungodly influences of a sex-saturated culture as they grow older--because the cultural idea that sex is nothing special will clash with the deep-soul belief that it is precious and good and worth waiting for.

Not only do children love this book, but it resonates deeply with parents who want to give something good to their children that will bear fruit much later.

There should be more books like this!

We found this book a wonderful tool to reinforce the importance of patience when it comes to choosing a mate. It is a beautifully told and illustrated story that reminds girls that God has a plan for them and their bodies if they will just trust God and wait. I especially liked how although the princess in the illustrations is pretty, she does not look like the usual Barbie/Disney princess. Our daughters (we don't have any sons) love the book as much as we do. But I also used the book as part of a Sunday School lesson, and the boys responded very positively to the message the story held for them as well.

Great life lesson and fairy tale combined

My daughter loves this book! Being three, she still thinks the book is a fairy tale about a beautiful princess that marries a handsome prince. As she gets older, we'll discuss the real meaning of the cleverly named princes, as I'm sure she'll wonder about their interesting names. My daughter doesn't grasp the concept of "the kiss" and how it relates to purity, but as she gets older it will begin to make sense. It will be a great book to have around as my kids get older and understand the real meaning of the story and the younger ones focus on the fairy tale side of it. I think it will be a great way to bring up the gift of purity in conversation as my kids get older and begin to ask more questions. I thought the book was very well written and it definatley has appeal to those who like princess stories. The book was recommended to me by a friend. I knew how the book was going to end and I still got emotional as I read it the first time with my daughter. I've since recommended this book to several other friends with daughters who were looking for subtle ways to teach their children about the gift of purity.

Still reading it YEARS later

Purchased this when my girls were 3 and 5. My husband has been reading it to them ever since...they are now almost 12 and 15!! As a matter of fact just a couple months ago they asked him to read it to them and when I walked in the room there they were...both curled up in his recliner on his lap just as they have done every time he's read it for the last almost 10 years. It has a wonderful and engaging story line and an even better message :)

Superb Book --- a MUST for your daughters (and sons!!)

We bought this book for our daughter when she was 4 and she is now 7 and still loves it. And because our sons are younger than her they have grown up hearing it as well and like it just as much as their sister. I am thankful for that because the book may be about a "princess'" kiss, it also teaches on how to be gentlemanly.

This book is a must! Start reading it , or just talking about the pictures if you have young children who won't understand the text, but keep reading it as they grow! Very inspirational!
