Once in a great while, a book comes along that can touch to the core. A book that can teach, inspire, enlighten and create a feeling of awe and a deeper desire to learn. "The Priest and the Medium" is one of those rarest of books that can transport the reader to places they never thought possible.

The book is beautifully written and weaves together a wondrous love story between a very gifted Spiritualist Minister (B. Anne Gehman) and an extremely learned Jesuit Priest (Wayne Knoll) who seeks life outside the Society in order to follow his heart. Their individual stories are amazing ... but the collective of Anne and Wayne creates a wonderful coupling of grace, deep spirituality and true love. The love story is sweet, but the happenstance that eventually leads to their meeting is nothing less than AMAZING.

As a reader you will no doubt be impressed by the spiritual gifts endowed to Anne Gehman and the book gives a wonderful sampling that leave no doubt in the reader's mind that they are indeed reading about an amazing "vessel". Anne Gehman is the real deal.

This is a quick, fascinating read that I found very hard to put down. Now ... I want to do everything within my power to make that trip out to Lily Dale, NY and meet this gifted woman and delve into Spiritualism more deeply.

This book helped to create the thirst to learn more. Don't be surprised if you feel the same.

As an intergenerational psychic/medium and as of late a paranormal investigator,I am drawn to books such as this.Many times I am disappointed.HoweverThe book The Priest and The Medium was a delight to read.It shows that people can have extreme differences of opion and yet respect these differences.As Mrs. Gehman appears to be an excellent psychic and a wonderful person it was ironic that she met a life partner who expresses his spiritual beliefs in a much different manner.I,like he am a Roman Catholic and his views aew similar to mine.Yet ,like him I find no scriptural discrepencies being a psychic medium.I do not claim this gift in and of myself.I feel The Holy Spirit works through me to assist and comfort others by use of the gifts of Spirit named in the Bible.I am merely a vehicle for this.Like Dr. Knoll my husband fully respects me and what I do but he very much has his own opinions and belefs different than mine.At times we are in ageement in our beliefs.We both believe in God or Spirit or whatever name you designate to him.I merely believe he works in one way while my husband believes he works in a different way.Like Mrs. Gehman and Dr. Knoll we share a bond of loe so deeply it lacks for words.I am so very pleased that "The Priest and The Medium" was written as a tool Spirit uses to help us understand each other.I thank them both for sharing their stories with us.

Clearly written, engaging biography of two very different lives that intersected and led to a late life love story. One person, a Spiritualist minister, psychic from a very young age, the other a lifelong Catholic who became a priest, these two have a story told here without schmaltz or, conversely, with an aim to controversy. The book alternately traces their journey with each chapter until Anne and Wayne ultimately connect.
Especially interesting to this reviewer was the Q & A at the end of the book that shines the light on the core questions I had of religious differences.

Reading this book is one of those coincidences that are God's anonymous miracles!!
I saw The Priest and The Medium on a shelf in the library as I walked by to return a book that I had just finished. The title was intriguing because I have been fascinated by mediums, psychics, the paranormal and the study of metaphysics for years AND my "fellow" whom I have been dating for the past year and a half is what I call an "uber-Catholic" meaning he had converted to this Spiritual path 50 years ago and has cherished it.
So I was curious about how two people with such divergent philosophies could find harmony in a close loving relationship. We each read the book singly but when we got to the last section, we read it out loud to each other. And WOW!! was it just what we needed -- showing how Anne and Wayne were able to continue each being their own person with their own spiritual path but having respect for their differences and sharing a deep and abiding love for one another. SO we intend to do the same!!
Thank you Anne and Wayne for being such wonderful way-showers.
PS We are both in our 70's and feel like we have found special togetherness at this magic time in our lives

Being a practicing psychic/medium myself, I can heartily recommend this book for anyone who has psychic experiences or is interested in same. I'm surprised that I had never heard of this woman before (or the priest for that matter.) While reading this book, I found myself grinning and muttering "yep" numerous times! A lot of validation here to prove that we/you aren't crazy!

In just a few words, I didnt want to finish. I looked forward to finding out,what would happen next. What a beautiful story of love and courage.

A really fantastic book. It covers the life stories of B. Anne Gehman and Wayne Knoll. Anne is a gifted psychic medium and a Spiritualist minister, and Wayne is a former Jesuit priest and holds many degrees including a Ph.D. After many interesting trials and tribulations, they meet and fall in love. Despite their differences of opinion on certain topics of religion they manage to find their common ground while also maintaining a great deal of respect for one another, and that is really what makes their story so inspiring. The author is an excellent writer, and keeps the narrative flowing by skillfully weaving their two stories together. You couldn't ask for a more entertaining, heartfelt, and inspiring story. Extremely enjoyable reading.

Being raised Catholic, and knowing the stigma of mediums and psychics, I ordered this book mostly out of curiosity. What a wonderful read! The author takes two completely opposite views, opposite lifestyles and melds them wonderfully together. And it creates harmony in your soul at the same time. Especially for anyone questioning their existence in this life and the life hereafter. Would make a nice gift for the person in your life who is also questioning what life is all about.

An excellent story of two lives showing the motivation and dedication to succeed in life and love. Truly a heartfelt journey.
