Pushing Digital Sales

I'm kind of at a loss. It seems as the author lost track of all forms of photography. I only own a film camera and can't afford to buy a bunch of stuff. And right away the author is like now go out and buy something for our next project. I think this person is more interested in selling things than teaching anyone how to tell a story with photography.

For Sale?

I didn't appreciate this book, not because it was poorly written but rather because it was primarily for selling photographs As and amateur photographer, I am not really interested in the key ingredients in selling my photos. As a professional photographer I would probably find this book as valuable.

Get ready to go up a level with your photography

I often peruse books on photography and get lost in the technical jargon and put the book down. I came across this book and instantly connected with it. In fact, I read it cover to cover and went back and enjoyed the suggestions during a second reading. The examples are practical and anyone can follow along. The imagery is beautiful and a book that I will refer back to many times. I love it when I can apply something from a teacher and immediately see the benefits. This book will do that for you. Every image should tell a story and this will help you put the finishing touches on those stories. Get this book for yourself and order copies to give to your photog buddies for Christmas.

Good Read and Informative

It is an excellent book for photographers who have some photography experience and who are looking to take their photography to the next level. The images are great to look at and Finn provides very good examples and exercises to help you become a better visual storyteller. If you are a beginner and looking for more detail instructions, I would still recommend this book, but as a supplement to any how to/beginner photography books out there. As you get better, you would want to have this book handy :)

Practical and Beautiful -- for all photographers!

Love this book! It is a rare combination of practical instruction/advice and an beautiful coffee table book. I especially find the editing section helpful, but also just inspired when surrounded by Finn Beales' ethereal photography. Truly appreciated is the approach to digital photography as an evolution from film photography, which was my actual experience. Highly recommended.

Interesting and easy to read

The book is interesting and easy to read. I like the design of it. Some of the tips that author shares with reader really workable and generally Finn summaries everything in very understandable way for beginners. Despite of the fact the some information isn't new it still not boring to go through it.

Be a better storyteller!

Whether you're a paid photographer or hobbyist, this book is essential to learning how to take photos that tell a story. I was guilty of being fixated on always trying to get a 'cool' shot but with the help of this book, Finn's Wildist course, and his 72 hrs in series, I learned to tell a story using multiple different types of shots and my projects have turned out to be so much more engaging that way. It's so simple but effective. This book is a real treat...highly recommended.
