Staying true to yourself, setting limits, and seeking help is often not taught by parents or educators, and this book will help guide children in managing complex problems appropriately. As a therapist in my 30s, some of these points were great reminders for difficult people I have come across!” ―Brie Turns, PhD, LMFT, author of I Will Always Love You “Christina Furnival and Katie Dwyer are a dynamic team, creating a beautiful children’s book about healthy boundaries and negotiating friendships. This wonderful resource allows parents and teachers to work with their children about setting limits and kindly living within them. A gift to young children everywhere.” ―Katie Hurley, LCSW, author of The Happy Kid Handbook and No More Mean Girls “This beautiful book will resonate with every child navigating new friendships. A Wonderful Book!

All children should get to read this book about setting boundaries - or have it read to them. It tells them how they should respond when another child is mean to them or disrespects them. The story is told in enjoyable rhyme. The illustrations are softly colored and lovely. We have been giving copies of this book to teachers so they can read it to the whole class. We wish we had had this book when our own children were little but now it is available for our own grandchildren. It is an excellent resource for parents.!

Wonderful lesson for children (and adults too!)

This book has become a recent favorite in our children’s rotation of bedtime stories, and put simply, it’s excellent. The author somehow distills a fairly high concept social skill (I know many adults that could actually benefit from the lessons here, including myself) to a level that is easily consumable for young children. Hats off to her impressive achievement, and this book is recommended to any parent interested in teaching their children healthy behaviors.

Great book for boundary setting

Bought both the ebook and hard cover versions. This easy to read book with beautiful illustrations makes the concept of setting boundaries simple for kids to understand. This book will teach kids helpful skills they can use forever. There are questions and additional information in the back which can be helpful conversation starters for parents, teachers, caregivers, etc. looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.

Something I needed 20 years ago!

I bought this for our kiddo that is in school now and needs to learn that not all kids their age are meant to be friends. AND friendship can come to an end if someone isn’t treating them well. Love love love this message of healthy boundaries. Wish I had this read to me when I was in elementary school!!! Adulthood would have been a lot less complicated too!!

Exactly what we needed for school day assertiveness

This book reads enough like a story the kids like it and has clear enough examples of what to say to a bully to be a usable lesson. I like the concept breakdown at the end that honestly most adults need to learn too. It had a nice limit with enough grace that the bully can reengage if kind, not a villian. A nice nod to not every one will like you and that's ok.

Awesome Book

This book is adorable and very helpful. My daughter is in second grade and she has run into a couple issues with friends not being kind. This book is written in a way that will help her set boundaries and have healthy friendships. I also love the discussion questions in the back. I think all elementary schools and children should have a copy of this book.

Great BOOK!

My grandson is on the spectrum and having a difficult time with a bully. Problem was he wanted to have a friend so badly he was trying to tolerate. I was uncertain he would grasp but low and behold he did. He's setting boy with this boy now (without knocking him down). Yes, grandma almost gave really bad old school advice. The book stopped this!!! 😉

How to set boundaries and stop friends unkind behavior and still be friends.

Was looking for something to help our child who was struggling on setting boundaries esp at recess. Classmates were having unfriendly moments /being bossy. Our child needed help being confident in knowing she could tell them NO/STOP their behavior and still be friends. This was perfect. My child is a 1st grader and it was perfect for that age range.
