superb

Read the synopsis, and you will get a feel for what this book is about. However, the author makes it fascinating with plot twists as well as other things such as point-of-view shifs, interview clips, newspaper articles, and even a missing poster. This book will be impossible to put down as you will come to care about the main characters, especially the kidnap victim. I loved it and hope to read more by this author. She was good.

Children's Books Ireland Recommended Read, Junior Library Guild Selection NY Public Library ...

The book I am reviewing is The Night She Disappeared by April Henry. The summary of the book is Gabie drives a Mini Cooper. She also delivers pizza part-time. One night, Kayla, another delivery girl at Pete’s Pizza, goes out with an order and never comes back. Gabie figures out that the man who called in the fake pizza order had asked if the girl in the Mini Cooper was working that night. Obsessed with finding Kayla, Gabie teams up with Drew, who also works at Pete’s. Together, they try to prove that Kayla isn’t dead, and find her before she is.

A few of her other books that she has written are Blood WIll Tell, The Body In The Woods, The Girl Who Was Supposed To Die, and Girl, Stolen. All the awards she has won was ALA Top 10 Books for Teens finalist, ALAN Pick [Assembly on Literature for Adolescents], Agatha Award finalist, Anthony Award finalist, Barnes & Noble Top Teen Pick, Children's Books Ireland Recommended Read, Junior Library Guild Selection NY Public Library Books for the Teen Age, New York Times bestselling author, YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults and YALSA Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers. She has more of a mystery style. Almost all of her books have some kind of mystery or crime in it. The genre is young-adult fiction, detective fiction, and mystery.

The title of the book fits in throughout the whole book because it is about a girl who one night disappeared. This book is one of the most interesting books I’ve read yet. The book jacket provides a pretty interesting summary.

The characters in this book are interesting. The main characters are Gabie, Drew, and Kayla. In the exposition the main characters such as Gabie, Kayla, and Drew are introduced, as well as the setting. A quote from the book: “I WAKE UP. At least I think I’m awake. Maybe I’m dead. It’s completely black. The right side of my head throbs. I must be alive. The dead don’t feel pain, do they? Finally, after five minutes or maybe an hour, I push myself up. Big mistake. The side of my head was stuck to whatever I was lying on. By the time I figured that out, it was too late. The pain makes me shriek. It’s like someone tried to scalp me. I keep shrieking, only now I find words. “Help me! Somebody help me! I’m hurt!” The words come right back to me. My shouts feel trapped in here, wherever here is. Just like I am. What happened? Where am I?”

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good mystery/crime book. I normally don’t like reading but I really enjoyed this book and would love to re-read it anytime.

If you like to read mystery/thriller books that are based off true ...

A Night She Disappeared Review
Over 30 years ago, a teenage girl disappeared delivering a pizza at a pizza delivery place. Originally, the victim was not intended, the man wanted someone else. If you like to read mystery/thriller books that are based off true stories “A Night She Disappeared” by April Henry might be the perfect book for you. In the book, Kayla goes missing when out for delivery. Her car is found with her keys inside, her purse and pizza boxes on the ground. Gabie (who also works at the place) finds out the kidnapper originally asked for Gabie that night. Gabie feels obligated to help find Kayla before something bad happens to her.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery and thriller book; Especially someone just looking for a fast read, because the book makes you want to not stop reading. I like how the author tells the book from different points of views. There are chapters where Gabie’s talking, where Kayla is talking, expressing how she is feeling and what's going on, and even there are chapters where the kidnapper is talking; I found that very interesting and it made the book a lot more interesting.
“I know i'm going to die here, is anyone even searching for me?” (pg. 98) Kayla believes she is going to die, but has no clue what is in store for her.
“In my dream I hear Kayla calling my name but I can’t see or hear her, maybe this is signs of her death.” (pg. 181)

It was pretty good

This is more about her friends and how they go through the process of her disappearance vs her experience being kidnapped. It’s definitely well written just not what I expected.
