Richard Peck taps into this affection with The Mouse with the Question Mark Tail . . . a lively tale.” — The Wall Street Journal “This change of pace from Peck’s quintessentially American stories will delight readers with its British pageantry seen through the eyes of a feisty, insightful narrator.” — Horn Book “This mouse-sized identity quest sparkles.”—Kirkus Reviews “A more-than-perfect book to share aloud with young readers.” — Christian Science Monitor "Peck creates a pleasantly detailed, cozy Victorian mouse world. There's some of Stuart Little's appeal to Mouse Minor's exploits." — BCCB “Perfect for reading aloud to intermediate grade students or for recommending to readers who enjoy a mystery or a good adventure story. Recommend to fans of The Tale of Despereaux .”— Library Media Connection RICHARD PECK (1934-2018) was born in Decatur, Illinois and lived in New York City for nearly 50 years. A Tale of the Meek

And who is more meek than a mouse, and especially a mouse without parents and without a name? Journey with this fellow through the ranks and protocols of Victorian London during Victoria’s diamond Jubilee as he finds his true identity. A very satisfying tale, told with charm and wit as you would expect from any Richard Peck story. Wonderful use of imagery signifying inward character.

Very engaging storyline

This is a great book recommended by my kids school for reading olympics preparation. My 11 years old really loved this book and is now reading for the second time. He likes it for characterization and engaging story line.

Great book for a 3rd grader!

I'm 9 years old and my dad helped me pick this book from my book fair! My teacher said I needed to challenge myself on reading. This book has a mouse who has a question mark tail he learns how to count to 12 on rulers ( only 12). But has trouble on the way... This was an awesome book!

a GREAT one

Gave this book to my niece but we had previously purchased a copy for my sons--LOVED it! Wonderful book: funny, intriguing and a fun mystery (also it was clean!--always a bonus for children!)
