Mostly generic recipes themed in name only.

The price is fair, but some of the recipes are not game themed at all. There is a basic chicken drumstick recipe called “Hunger Bar Drumsticks.” You cant just make normal food and slap a creative name on it, and call it “themed.” There are at least 15 out of 40 recipes that have no photos, despite it saying there is a photo for every recipe. I get that the book is for kids and parents, but I still was disappointed. To be fair there are some super cute and creative actual Minecraft themed deserts which are the best part. If you are expecting a very creative, and original cookbook skip this. You can find much better stuff on Pinterest.

Some pictures are drawn and not actual photographs

I gave this to my 10 year old as a Christmas present. I read it first and bought a bunch of the dry ingredients and put them in a box with the book on top. She was so excited and made something every day for the first week of winter break. Now she makes something whenever she can.

Way too much sugar in sweet recipes

My Minecraft loving son likes this book a lot, but each time we make sweet treats, the ingredients call for too much sugar, thus removing 2 stars.
Example: I've made frosting for mushroom cupcake according to recipe, and it was unbearably sweet, thus I threw it away and halved sugar the second time, still very sweet, but much better. Sugar shouldn't be the number one ingredient in recipes for kids.

Hours if entertainment and education.

My son was struggling with fractions a bit and he loves cooking and minecraft. Put them all together and this has become one of our favorite things to do. He gets to learn while doing somethings he loves. I get to spend quality time with my boy, and our family gets to enjoy the treats we make together.
Recipes are easy, ingredients are common and I have mostly everything already. Puts a nice spin on our everyday meals and snacks.

Grandson loves

My 7 year old Grandson loves all things Minecraft so this cookbook was a big hit. The recipe names and illistrations encouraged any picky eater to try new foods. He can easily read and follow the recipes. This book took him away from playing video games, encouraged him to read, follow instructions and eat new foods. And I made points with his parents. Quality book well worth the price.

My 10 Year Old LOVES this book

We gave this book to our 10 year old son who loves to cook and loves Minecraft for Christmas. It has become his favorite present and we are cooking it from it almost every day. We've made many of the recipes. He is learning cooking skills AND they have tasted wonderful! Highly recommend if you have a Minecraft enthusiast who delights in cooking.
