Did finish but it was a struggle

I did finish this but it was a struggle. Started out with a middle aged overweight cop doing a self exam in the mirror. Yuck. Stopped at this point but came back to it. May be spoilers. I believe in certain gifts but they don’t manifest at the age of 28 out of the blue. There was never an explanation of where it came from. That to me is an unfinished thread. There was a fair amount of misuse of words, tenses and spellings. Worst instead of worse, that kind of thing. Completely laughable that someone as twisted as this simply did it bc he missed his mommy. Studies have shown that serial killers of any kind ALWAYS suffer from issues in their childhood. Killing small animals, child abuse by a parent, etc., but to suggest that someone would develop these tendencies bc he had an absent father? Nope. Someone with this twisted psyche would not be capable of a relationship so the fact that he was able to find and have a girlfriend is at best unlikely and to find one with a kindred spirit? Just NO. It is simply impossible to suspend all belief to be able to absorb this story. No explanation was ever given as to why he fed the body parts to his dogs. I suppose that we r to believe they were absorbing whatever ‘aura’ he saw in these people. I mean, was he capable of seeing auras or did he just imagine them? Did they have them bc they had cancer? None of it was explained. As you go through the story it just comes apart and gets more confusing as it goes. I gave 2 stars bc writing isn’t easy and there were parts of it that were good. It was also very graphic but I guess a paramedic would see all sorts of graphic stuff and want to include it in his writing. Not for me though. Sorry.
