Difficult to Find Books

I knew this was an MP3 so I did not have issues about this that others did. The product has good features but they are difficult to find. There were 4 discs but no key or instructions to tell you what book was where, not on the disc itself, on the cover or separate instructions. You would expect the bible to be in order but in playing each disc that is also difficult to tell because there are introductions, in one disc all together then scattered throughout. Earlier, I did see where the books were in alphabetical order, but when I tried that strategy later, it did not work based on what I thought. The message bible is such a good version for understanding, but who has time trying to guess where a particular book is on four different discs. Maybe I will upgrade this review when I figure out how to find books, without having to put in 1-3 discs in as a guessing game.

Do not purchase if you intend to transfer to an mp3 player.

The files do not transfer to an mp3 device in proper order. I have a SanDisk product and wasted way too much time. Oh, the files transfer, but are not in consecutive order - close, but that's not good enough. Customer service attempted to help, and I do appreciate their efforts. The CDs are fine for listening to in my vehicle, so I'm okay with the purchase, just disappointed that they don't meet the reason of the initial purchase.

Doesn't deserve even 1 star

Not sure where in the bible a lot of this story comes from The words they use a little later on in the story are vile and not biblical I wouldn't ever want my Grandma to her what I heard All seems to be rewritten by man not God's writing At one stage I took it right out and threw it in the trash! That's how I feel about that message! Get the real work of God on CD like James Earl Jones' reading That's beautiful!

Wonderful presentation and voice quality.

The voices are wonderful. I had to buy an Mp3 player or use it in my car because of the format.I wish it was just a CD. I like to be read to. The other minor complaint is that the chapters need to be manually advanced, otherwise it repeated itself.

BEWARE! All the chapters of all the books on all CDs are mixed together!

Received this as a gift. I thought "What a great idea! only 4 CD's to have to carry around." Put disc 1 in my computer to check it out, and found that every chapter of every book on that disc is out of order. one chapter of Genesis were at the end of the CD, some were in the middle, etc. No two were together. It's like they shuffled the whole CD. So I took that one out, and put in disc 2. Same results. Same with disc 3 and 4. Also tried to rip to my computer so I could put it on my iPod for portable listening, but won't work for that either. Will see if my girlfriend has the receipt so we can send this back. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Can't say I would recommend to anyone, based on some of the other reviews and my experience.

A very pleasant listen

The reading voice is very pleasant with good intonation and expression and I appreciate the introduction to each book that sheds additional light on the authors intent. Since it's on MP3 CD's I can easily carry the entire Bible (4 CD's) in my car. The Message is not intended as a study Bible but it's very pleasant to listen to while I drive to work.

I can now say it works just fine. I am listening to it on my computer

Reading the complaints, I was a little wary to order this MP3 version of The Message. However, I can now say it works just fine. I am listening to it on my computer, not my mp3 player. You MUST fire up Windows Media Play FIRST when trying to listen to the discs. It will show the books with chapters. You can then Sync it to your MP3 player, or just listen to it on the computer itself. This will make my Disciple 3 reading much more palatable. I give it a thumbs up.
