Good story-but

A compelling story idea, but an annoying and frustrating lead character made this book less impactful than it could have been. The plot droned on, was repetitive and a bit lazy. After a while, I didn’t care what happens to them.

Wow! Life, love, and undercover observation!

Realistic, culturally accurate, eerie, sad, frightening, pulse-pounding, and twisty! The Last Guests by J. P. Pomare is a modern, domestic mystery-thriller. An ambulance paramedic who was in medical school until her grandfather’s death derailed Lina. Now a wife who desires making a family with her husband Cain, a man who saw hell during his time in the military and was badly injured, both physically and mentally. Now each is carrying secrets that could devastate their marriage. On top of that, someone is watching them, spying on their mundane life and their intimacies.

This is a mystery with realistic characters and a plot that keeps you guessing until a new twist is revealed. I rate this book a 5 out of 5, and I highly recommend it!

Very suspenseful, but I didn't buy the ending!

Well written and very suspenseful, with some great elements in play. The protagonist has backed herself into a corner with a secret that could ruin her marriage. But the longer she goes without coming clean, the worse it gets. Unfortunately, the resolution didn't hold water for a couple of major reasons. Too bad -- it took a potential 5-star read down to about 3-1/2, rounded up because it was a lot of fun getting there.
