Great book

Love the book and the concept. Unfortunately my 4.5 year old now is insisting we adopt another dog due to the books suggestion (pictured). Overall though an amazing book!

A story for us all

he Invisible Leash - Patrice Karst

The Invisible Leash is a story about a child, Zack, and his dog, Jojo who died of old age. Zack experiences a range of emotions from sorrow to anger. His family and friends try to cheer him up but Zack is not ready to be in a different emotional space. He even declines his favorite dessert, rainbow cupcakes. Zack remembers the good times with Jojo - hiking, playing Frisbee, and howling at the moon together. Zack’s friend, Emily, who has also lost a pet to death shows Zack the idea of an invisible leash that always connects us to our loved ones who have passed. Emily and Zack spend time at their treehouse discussing the invisible leash and how it works. “It’s a leash that connects our hearts,” explains Emily. The story ends with Zack hearing Jojo howling under a full moon while he watches the night through his bedroom window. A poignant piece to the story is that Patrice, the author, lost her dog, Jojo, while she was writing this book.

Gentle story about pet loss.Any loss.

Gave to a friend for herself and her husband. They both were very distraught with the loss of their dog after 13 years.
