Always A Good Read to Lift Your Spirits

Patrick McManus' books are a hoot and guaranteed to bring a smile or gut wrenching laughter. You will see yourself and your friends in all his stories even if you have never camped, fished or hunted. One of my favorite ways to read his books is at a gathering of friends where each of us reads a page of the story. My favorite story is "Pigs." Even my teenage grandchildren put down their video games to listen to me read it out loud to them.

Funny Collection

McManus is very funny I giggled and snorted through all his stories. So sad he has died I looked forward to Field and Stream and turned to Exit Laughing first.

McManus is Like a Clone of Will Rogers or Mark Twain

I have just discovered Author Patrick McManus and am wondering why it took me so long. The personal stories from his childhood and adult life in the Pacific Northwest are immensely entertaining. His humorous take on life makes me seriously suspect he must be a clone of Will Rogers or Mark Twain. I highly recommend this author for all readers. His writings are pure delight. – David B. Crawley, M.D. – Author of “Steep Turn: A Physician’s Journey from Clinic to Cockpit” and “A Mile of String: A Boy’s Recollection of his Midwest Childhood.”
