Julie Johnston has done it again. She has written another brilliant novel that I could not put down. This book was incredible. The main characters are so endearing. William is brave yet scared and Ada is a spunky beauty that doesn’t like her gift. These two will battle it out and make you giggle while reading. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what Ms. Johnstone writes for us next.

Another excellent addition to the Entangled heart series. I just adore this set and Julie’s writing.

A HEA that has adventure throughout every chapter.
Fae , romance, treason, kings and passion all rolled into one fabulous book.

William is a man who has fought for his King , unlike his father and brother who are traitors.
As far as he’s concerned they failed in their support of King David ,Scotland , Him and his clan.
Being the only one left he’s the one who must pay , classed as a traitor himself until his Laird and his King step in , giving him a chance to redeem himself and his family.

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!

This maybe Julie Johnstone’s best book yet!! The Heart of a Highlander is book 10 in the Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts series and boy oh boy what an amazing series this is but you can read this particular book or any in this series as a standalone so not to worry. Julie’s writing keeps getting better and better and her stories are just so original. You will read nothing like it and it hits on every emotion… I love it. You fall in love with the hero and heroine and just hate the evils one. I couldn’t put it down. This has so much in it that I know my list could go on and on but here is just a few thing to expect: fights, abandonment, an arranged marriage, greed, two fairies gifts, not wanting to fall in love, an evil stepbrother, imprisonment, torture, spies, missions for the king, two wonderful dogs that seem to understand everything that is being said to them and yes love. You have to read this book… trust me… you won’t be disappointed.

Another Winner!!

Will or William grew up!!
I don't think there has been a Julie Johnstone book or story that I have not enjoyed. She writes the kind of stories that reaches into the depth of a hero or heroine and makes you care about them.
Mild spoilers... Once again King David's quest to keep his crown sends one of his loyal subjects on a mission. This time it is William MacLean who must serve his King to ferret out his enemies and wed a lass that may also be an enemy. (I am beginning to think that King David is tiring of constant struggle to defeat his enemies.) King Maker, Ada MacQuerrie is the prize worth a Kingdom. William wants to remain true to himself without love, Ada wants love and passion.
Ms. Johnstone has created a world full of wonderful characters both good and bad that make me want to loath the bad guys while cheering on the good guys. I found William and Ada's journey engaging and enjoyable. And I loved the fae!
One comment about the writing, I would like to see Ms. Johnstone include a little more description in the surroundings, clothing and characters (including the hounds). Not having as much detail did not detract from the story, but for me, I would have liked to have more description in the story.
So buy it and read it, you will love it!!

An Intriguing Story

Another great book to end this series! William & Ada are so compelling, the fae are funny & the dogs just add to the mix. William has no interest in a wife, where have we heard that before!, but is drawn to Ada from his first glance & then the fun begins. I have loved this entire series & this book is the perfect ending...watching William & Ada come to terms with their quick marriage & saving King David. I especially enjoyed the epiloge. It's one of my favorites from this series...a must read!

When Ada was born, the Fae gifted her with the gift that she would become a kingmaker. This gift would kick in only when she willingly wed another. Her step-brother forces her to choose a man and marry, so he can use this gift. She chooses William as the better of the choices she has; but he has a secret agenda of his own. This is book 10 in Julie Johnstone’s fabulous Highlander Vows Entangled Hearts series, though you can read this without having read any of the previous books having said that once you read this you will definitely want to. This tells the story of William, our hero, a man with a troubled past and a closed heart. He is sent by the king to win and wed Ada MacQuerrie, fabled kingmaker. Treachery and mischief and fairies make for an interesting adventure. Together they learn to trust, love and save each other. Ultimately finding their happy ever after. This book has everything to keep the reader interested, handsome men fighting with swords, strong, independent woman. I have loved this whole series, it takes you to the beautiful wilds of ancient Scotland. I can’t recommend this book enough.

Another gem!

I just love this series and this one didn’t disappoint. William has to pretend to be a traitor so that he can court Ada who have been given a gift by 2 totally inept Fae women that will give her the ability to make a king upon her nuptials. Ada is in the control of her disgusting step brother with nefarious plans for Ada. William has to convince Ada to pick him once he is allowed to compete for her hand by turning over another of the kings supporters spotted in the area. I loved William and Ada as a couple, these were 2 people that really needed each other and although it took time for William to figure it out his reluctance is understandable. I loved Ada’s hounds, Freya and Hella and they did a great job of looking out for their mistress and protecting her.

William MacLean serves King David and is trying to earn trust of his clan as both his father and brother were deemed traitors to the king. Secrets are revealed and William is asked to serve the king once more by marrying Ada ( who was given a special gift on her birth) and to learn who in her clan are traitors to King David.

This book has a well-written plot, outstanding characters. I loved the banter between Ada and William on their journey to love. I enjoyed this book.

The Fae & Two Dogs - What’s not to love?

She had me at the dogs. Will and Ada are a likeable couple but the addition of Hella & Freya add an extra layer of excitement to the romance. Throw in a couple of meddlesome faes, Hortense & Portense, an orphan, a loyal servant, a lost brother & a step sister and you have the makings of a wonderful addition to the Highlander Vows series. This is a romance, so we get our happy ending, the bad guys get punished appropriately, and there is an epilogue to catch up with the family a year later.
