An easy, fast read!

It has been a long time since I’ve read through an entire book. This one, however, I was able to get through within a month. Coming from someone who doesn’t even really like reading, I thought the book was great! It kept me interested, and I didn’t forget all of the material whenever I would put the book down. Towards the beginning, I had come up with my own theory, and as the book went on it continued to justify my idea. Yet upon finding out the truth- it was completely different then the theory I had created. The only negative that I would portray on this book was that I deemed it to be slightly repetitive, as reading through the minds of the narrators. But all in all I enjoyed reading the book and would definitely recommend it to others who like an easy read, along with a crime story

Great Read !

This is a story about Melissa who is a police detective 👩🏻‍✈️who's worked hard, And moved up the ranks - she is a sergeant and at 39 years old becomes pregnant with twins Ellie and Amber. Ellie is the perfect child and Amber is the screaming colicky baby who just will not go to sleep or settle down or give her a break.
She had to give up her position to have these twins and slowly becomes not herself she doesn’t shower she doesn’t shave she doesn’t use make up she just goes through the motions every day, If that’s not a sign that I don’t know what is but when you have a husband who doesn’t see that as a cry for help. Then move on. Postpartum is real. It effects women more than people think. In this case it effected Melissa more than the average mom.

Both Amber and Ellie are dead and Melissa is serving a life sentence for their death.

Jonathan and Kelly are investigative reporters who have teamed up to an investigate the appeal for Melissa because there’s new evidence that wasn’t used during the trial. They are writing a story on it but for some reason these investigative journalist should have been police detectives because they seem to uncover more than the police did...👩🏻‍💻🧑🏻‍💻

The twist and turns in this book are my favorite. The chapters being told back-and-forth - Melissa’s journal starts from the beginning and goes to the end and Jonathan and Kellie are present day I love chapters a switch back-and-forth between characters it’s my favorite type of book I love to be able to see about people‘s present and past.

You will thank you have guessed what happens in this book but you will be completely wrong at least five times. Which makes it a 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For me. Diane Jeffreys books are becoming some of favorites. I’ve marked more on my TBR list by her.
