Heather kicks it up a notch!

I won an ARC from Heather in a Facebook contest and was over the moon as I love all her books but...I have to say this...I think Heather Blake is a WordCrafter! I honestly don't know how she does it -- she gets better with each outing and this book is no exception.

Darcy's best friend Starla's husband Kyle has been "on the lam" since escaping from jail after his arrest for attempting to strangle her. No one has seen him for two years. Then Starla comes running to Darcy, hysterical, because she saw Kyle in Enchanted Village. It seems that Starla is the only one who can see him, but she's terrified nonetheless.

The police are on the case, but with an invisible suspect, their job isn't going to be easy. Darcy, Harper and Ve want to help Starla, but they're at a loss as well. The best they can do is try to protect their friend while keeping their eyes and ears open.

The usual wonderful characters of Enchanted Village are part of the story, and there are some surprises...all wonderful but some especially delighful! So, when this book is released, come join the gang in the village...you won't regret it!

Not just another story!!!!

I love this series, but Heather Blake hit it out of the park. I got it last night and was up most of the night reading it, I could not put it down. Thank goodness I am retired!! Darcy has always been a character you could relate to, far from perfect but a big heart. but in this book you find yourself putting yourself in her place and wondering what you would do. I found myself saying yes, yes, yes and then no, no, no. As a mother and a grandmother, I began to wonder what if it happened to someone I loved. It is a wonderful story, but it also makes you think. Of course the magic in the story adds to the fun. You don't want to miss this book. If you have read the other books in the series, you will love this one more!!!. But if you haven't this book stands on it's own, read it, you won't be disappointed.

I'm enamored with this series. They are light, fun, and have just enough edginess in the storylines to keep from being just fluff. I fun read on a day you need to relax.

I have enjoyed all of her witchcraft mysteries which are light on ...

I just finished this latest from Heather Blake. I have enjoyed all of her witchcraft mysteries which are light on the witchcraft as most would think of it, and plenty on 'magic'. It all seems reality though, and the plot is good and holds interest to the end. I like this series better than her new one on Lotions and Potions.

I love this series, the village.. Everything

Darcy and company are at it again and her friend Starla is accused of murder. This was an engaging story and each time I read one of these books I get sucked right in and lose a lot of sleep reading it. Love the series. The next one can not come out fast enough. I also think that if you are new to the series you can read this book and still enjoy.

The Goodbye Witch

Heather Blake's latest book in her Wish Craft series is, (as the kids would say), " the bomb". Darcy is a loving, caring witch, who always seems to be in the middle of village problem. Maybe that's why her boyfriend, Sheriff Nick, (who happens to be a mortal) wishes that Darcy would mind her own business. This time it's her BFF Starla who seems to be in trouble. Even though Darcy and her sister Harper have lived in the Enchanted Village, near Salem, Ma. about a year Darcy has all ready stepped in and helped several residents. After the death of their father, the girls came to the village to live and work with their Aunt Ve, in her shop, As You Wish. Harper decides to open a shop of her own thus a book store comes to town.
With a village full of witches how does the sheriff keep any peace there? Being a mortal, and widower, whose 12 year old daughter happens to be a witch, he does his best to protect everyone in the village.
Heather has kept me spell bound in the Enchanted Village. All of the enchanting people, and the enchanting tales just serve to make this enchanting series so popular. My recommendation to all of you is to pick up a Wish Craft book and lose yourself in this enchanting series by the ever enchanting Heather Blake.

LOVE this series!

If you like cozies with a little sparkle of magic, you'll love Heather Blake's Wishcraft mysteries. The characters are lively and whimsical, the situations believable, and the ending is very satisfactory. I was sad when I finished it, and can't wait until the next one!

The Goodbye Witch by Heather Blake

The fourth book in Heather Blake's Wishcraft Mystery series, The Goodbye Witch, combines a well written cozy mystery with the paranormal. The charming town called the Enchanted Village isn't at all what it seems sometimes and Blake makes readers believe that wishes can come true there. Great character development and pacing make this book a perfect read for the lounger or the porch swing. A great addition to the series!

What I liked:

It's official... I want to live in the Enchanted Village. Heather Blake has made this little town so accessible to her readers that they literally would love to find a town like it and move right in. I always enjoy the way that Blake makes the village come alive with great descriptive passages and characters that seem like old friends. The Goodbye Witch is the fourth book in the series and as a reader I still feel like I am always finding something new about the town or it's inhabitants.

I loved the fact that this installment focuses on Starla and Darcy's best friend. These two have been close all along and Starla always seems to know the right thing to do or say and now she's the one in trouble. I liked the idea of blind faith, and how Darcy was utterly convinced that Starla could never hurt anyone including her ex-husband who had tried to kill her in the past. It showed the depth of their friendship and how important Starla was too Darcy and to the series in general. I like it when an author lets the mystery hit close to home.

Darcy, as usual, has an interesting way of going about figuring out each crime and whodunit. In this one, there plenty of suspects and motives and Darcy has a lot of evidence to work with. I liked seeing the whole gang of Darcy's family and friends trying to save one of their own. It worked well with the story and I thought Blake did a great job of placing her red herrings strategically to keep the reader a little off balance. I figured it out before the end, but not too far ahead. I was very satisfied by the ending and thought that this was probably the best in the series so far.

What I didn't like:

There were a couple of points when I felt like the story dragged a little bit and I wanted to push ahead, but that's just the mystery reader in me. I want to see if I've got it all figured out, like most readers do.

Bottom Line:

This was a fun read. It had some good underlying themes, like strong friendship and blind faith. Blake's books seem to improve with each one in the series and I like this one best so far. I want to live in the
Enchanted Village so I think it's safe to say this is a good read.
