Get Ready to be transported.

James Blatch writes with an authority and authenticity that transports you mind and soul into a 1960s RAF test squadron. I felt like I had traveled in time. I especially appreciated the aviation accuracy. Blatch immerses you In a scene so fully that you can practically feel the aircraft controls at your fingertips. Fascinating, detailed, and at times shocking, The Final Flight keeps you turning pages with stellar tension and heart.
You’ll become absorbed with the life and trials of these characters, feeling their victories and losses and biting your nails as dark interests force them into incredible danger.

A thoroughly satisfying read with a rollercoaster finish

The author delivers on the premise with a well-developed plot, believable characters and a setting that captured the cold war '60s. You don't have to be an aviation buff to appreciate the detail and he doesn't show off with his knowledge, but instead makes it easier for the reader to follow along. Well worth my time and money

A Sierra Hotel read for Military Aviation enthusiasts

My wife gave me this book as a Birthday gift, and what a gift! The storyline is well developed and the characters are spot on from a military pilots perspective. "The Final Flight" brings to life the high speed dynamic environment of low level flying and its inherent dangers. The razors edge margin between life and death can be a split second. An intense, thrilling read which i found thoroughly enjoyable. I particularly thought the author did an adept job of describing squadron life and the relationships between pilots. Add in the plot line of leading edge technology development at any cost and the story takes off. I highly recommend this book for all aviation enthusiasts and military aviation buffs.
