Review “What a joy to return again to Braide Wood, to Lyric, and to the people of the verses. Sharon Hinck has crafted a compelling plot, an entrancing setting, and characters that are so realistic I felt like I was welcoming long lost friends. I slipped into the story world seamlessly through the viewpoints of Linette and Susan for another exciting other-world adventure.” — Virginia Smith, best-selling author -- Virginia Smith About the Author Sharon Hinck has experienced many adventures on the road of following Christ, but none has involved an alternate universe (so far). She has an MA in Communication, has won three Carol awards and was a Christy finalist. A wife, mother of four, and grandmother of three, Sharon makes her home in Minnesota.

Fulfilling
Well written, as all of Sharon Hinck's books are. It's a satisfying read and brings the stories of the various characters together nicely. It wraps up all the existing threads and introduces a new, young character at the hopeful end. I used to say that book 2 of the series was my favorite. Book 4 has at least tied with it. I just may have to go reread them both.

Wonderful as always
I enjoyed this story. This is one of my favorite authors. I've reread it about 3 times now. Creative imagery. I also like how she weaves spiritual themes into the story in a delicate relateable way.

A Series that Both Captivates and Encourages You
This book is a wonderful continuation of the Sword of Lyric series, and I hope it is not the last! You always wonder, with a sequel, if it's going to be as good as the others. This book delivers (no pun intended) on so many levels. You are immediately immersed back into the characters' lives as if you'd never taken that agonizing break waiting for the next book. Sharon Hinck does a phenomenal job of weaving Biblical truths into this series. In the first book, I was captivated by the spiritual parallels with the Rhusicans, who can drown your mind in lies. In this book, you see how God uses the weak, the misfit, and the impossible. It is refreshing to see the truths of God explored in a different world and still made relevant to your own life. The author's intimacy with God is woven throughout this story, and it pulls you deeper into the Father's heart as well. It is hard to put any book in this series down, and you will be reading it again and again because it's just that good.

Sad to see it end
The "Sword of Lyric" series is unarguably my favorite choice in Christian fiction. Sharon Hinck has inspired me toward a deeper walk with the One.
The premise of this final book to the series filled me with apprehension. The other three books were excellent, but introducing the Deliverer could go wrong in so many ways. However, the author did justice to the tale. I can't imagine a more perfect way to introduce the ultimate character.
While I found this book to be somewhat slower in pace than the others, it was a solid and satisfying conclusion to the series, leaving plenty of room for one's imagination to continue the story.

I just love this book
I just love this book. I am not even much of a fiction reader, but this series hits the mark in a way that few authors accomplish. Characters have their heroic sides and their weak sides, they struggle with knowing when to keep trying and when to move on, they have their faith confirmed and then they wonder if it really was, and ultimately like us they need to find it within themselves to trust The One knows best. I could never come up with a completely new world, myself -- (spoiler) the weather has even been thought through as you'll realize in this volume! As a result, this kingdom has enough distance from our world to make the storylines truly thought-provoking without "taking sides" in modern affairs.

beautiful, but open - ended.
We return to Hazor in the opening scenes of The Deliverer! The story opens up on a mildly funny note and a new birth, but things quickly take a dark turn when Kieran's secret comes out – he's no longer the Restorer. But the King of Hazor didn't know that, and now the price of that omission will be high.
Susan and Mark have jumped back through the portal to find their son Jake, who has not been heard from in some time. The portal, however, does not take them to Lyric, and the pair find themselves in a mess of trouble.
There was a lot more Biblical allegory in this book than in the previous ones, with the coming of the Deliverer – their Jesus figure. The ending was ...wow. There are so many things I would like to say about the ending, but most of them are considered major spoilers, so my lips are zipped. I'll just say that the ending, while feeling nearly perfect, still leaves a few thin threads dangling. I really would like to see how things turned out in the end for Nico and the Rhusicans, as well as the Kalareans. Hinck left the door open for possible future stories, which I do hope to someday see. *Pretty please, Mrs. Hinck?*
Safety Rating:
Romance: Main Character's romance is clean and sweet. One kiss. However there is a time when Lynette is a prisoner of the evil priestess and finds that most of the young priestesses are used like prostitutes and they planned to do the same to her. Nothing is described in great detail.
Language: clean
Drinking/drugs: evil priestess uses a regimen of drugs to erase Lynette's memory and make her compliant. She also goes through withdrawal.
Blood/ violence: One birth, along with some fighting and various injuries.
