Description

"Readers who like their fiction with a strong dose of inspiration and morality will enjoy this outing." --Kirkus Reviews "This long awaited sequel is worth the wait. Once again, you quickly become part of the story and the twist and turns become as personal to you as they are to the characters . . . Expect to be so wrapped up in this story that these characters begin to feel as if you know them and their problems, hopes and dreams are real." -- Night Owl Reviews ***** Top Pick"Great Fiction with a Moral Message -Mr. Kaufman has become one of my must-read authors...His writing grabs and holds my attention but also inspires me to look at myself and take a moral inventory..." --Stan Newton"James J. Kaufman once again delivers a mighty punch in literature with a soft spoken voice as he continues his trilogy several years in the future from where he left off with The Collectibles another mind-blowing walk in Kaufman's amazing world, and I can t wait to see how the final curtain falls." --Debbie Haupt, The Reading Frenzy While I've written other books in the business, health and professional area, The Collectibles was my first foray into fiction.xa0xa0xa0In writing The Concealers, book two of the Collectibles trilogy, I drew heavily upon my experiences in Law, my dealings in the business world, and my interactions with people from widely different backgrounds.xa0xa0Many of the "collectibles" and other characters from book one appear and play an important role in Book two, and there are many new characters, including Katherine Kelly, a young investigative journalist finishing her masters and about to enter the real world of reporting.xa0xa0xa0I have enjoyed immensely the experience of writing books one and two of the collectibles trilogy, as well as listening to and talking with those who have read these books and - no surprise - I'm now working on book three. As a novelist, Mr. Kaufman, a former attorney and judge, draws heavily upon his experiences in law, his dealings in the business world, and his interactions with people from widely different backgrounds. He is the author of the award-winning novel The Collectibles . He and his wife make their home in Wilmington, North Carolina. Read more

Features & Highlights

  • The Concealers, Book Two of The Collectibles Trilogy
  • Her mentor says she has the makings of a good reporter, but to be great, Katherine Kelly must learn to find the emotional core of a story and not hold back in its telling. Then he suggests one last grad school assignment find someone who has influenced her family and tell that story.
  • Katherine pursues the only family story that has ever eluded her the identity of the father she never knew. Her mother, knowing her daughter will not stop until she gets the truth, breaks her years of silence and makes the call she always swore she would never make.
  • The reality of her father stands in stark contrast to the one in her dreams, and Katherine must decide who her father truly is the guardian of a group of wounded souls called The Collectibles, the attentive father of a newly discovered daughter, the person of interest in a bank fraud investigation or a little of all three. Blood is deeper than principle, or so she is told. And a great journalist follows a story wherever it leads. It is her call, and only Katherine can make it.

fantastic follow-up!

The Concealers is a great continuation of The Collectibles story. I could hardly put it down until I was finished. Reading it made me feel like I was experiencing a cliff hanger that could go in so many directions. I will be waiting anxiously to see where the story goes. I really enjoyed the book's new characters and how they interacted with those of the Collectibles. The choices that are made have many consequences for all involved. A very thought provoking story that was a delight to read.

I found The Concealers to be an enjoyable read, mostly because it built upon the characters in The Collectibles. Reading The Concealers first would probably hinder enjoyment of the total works.

Second book in the trilogy does not disappoint

Loved this book! It’s a great follow on to “The Collectibles”, continuing the story and building on characters and relationships from the first book of the trilogy. It was hard to put down and definitely made me eager to finish the trilogy.

Highly recommended.

Great book for anybody

This book was recommended to me by my wife which gave me pause because we don't always share a fondness for the same books or television programs. In this case she was right. This book, along with The Collectibles, is written for everybody. It takes you into the heart and minds of the characters allowing you to view the world as they would based on their life experiences.

Loved it…!!!

A remarkable page turner. Our heroine drives this story; her father is lucky to have her. What she has uncovered has me waiting anxiously for the third book in the trilogy. Can't put it down.
